- • As a Senior Data Governance Specialist at Growth Acceleration Partners, you will play a pivotal role in the execution and day-to-day delivery of critical data governance initiatives for a leading private equity firm, acting as a key partner to the Director of Data Governance. This position is designed for a hands-on professional who thrives in a business-facing environment, bridging the gap between strategic data governance objectives and practical, tangible implementation.
- • You will collaborate closely with a diverse range of stakeholders, including business leaders, data owners, and technical teams, to gain a comprehensive understanding of the existing data landscape. Your primary focus will be on identifying data-related challenges and gaps, and then driving the delivery of concrete governance outcomes. These outcomes will include the enrichment of enterprise data catalogs with accurate definitions and ownership, the establishment of clear data ownership structures, and the implementation of actionable data quality improvements.
- • This role emphasizes execution over pure strategy. You are expected to be a proactive contributor, rolling up your sleeves to actively engage with deliverables. Utilizing industry-standard tools, you will translate complex discussions with business partners into clear, actionable plans, comprehensive documentation, and successful execution.
- • A core responsibility will be to support and actively shape the ongoing execution of data management and governance initiatives across various business functions and projects. You will work in tandem with the Director of Data Governance to transform high-level strategic priorities into detailed workflows, robust standards, and essential documentation, providing valuable feedback from the field on the effectiveness and practicality of implemented solutions.
- • You will be instrumental in capturing key outcomes from stakeholder meetings and translating these insights into well-defined action plans and governance deliverables that drive progress and accountability.
- • Contributing to the enrichment and ongoing maintenance of the enterprise data catalog is a key function. This involves meticulously documenting data definitions, assigning ownership, and managing metadata to ensure a single source of truth for critical data assets.
- • Direct engagement with business stakeholders is essential. You will work closely with them to thoroughly understand their current data landscapes, identify pain points, and gather requirements to ensure governance efforts align with business needs and objectives.
- • You will be tasked with identifying and prioritizing opportunities that offer high impact with low complexity, enabling the rapid delivery of immediate value and clearly demonstrating the tangible benefits of robust data governance practices.
- • Assisting in the definition, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of data quality rules will be a collaborative effort with dedicated Data Quality and Engineering teams, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
- • Support for data lineage and metadata documentation efforts will be crucial for understanding data flow and transformations across the organization.
- • You will help coordinate data governance activities across different domains, ensuring consistent application of standards and diligent follow-through on commitments.
- • Clear and consistent documentation of governance processes, decisions, definitions, and artifacts is paramount to maintaining transparency and auditability.
- • Active participation in business-facing sessions and working meetings is expected, serving as a vital bridge between business needs and technical data solutions.
- • Support for regulatory and audit-related data governance requirements will be provided through meticulous documentation and the implementation of appropriate controls.
- • You will maintain and update essential governance artifacts, such as issue logs and data quality rule inventories, and ensure follow-through on assigned actions across multiple concurrent projects.
- • This role requires a practical, execution-oriented mindset, bringing structure and momentum to environments with numerous stakeholders and evolving priorities. You should be comfortable operating in complex, sometimes ambiguous situations, adept at managing multiple parallel tasks, and committed to delivering on all commitments.
