• • VSP Vision is seeking a Senior Data Modeler to play a pivotal role in shaping the company's data landscape. This position is crucial for translating business strategies into actionable data and analytics capabilities, ensuring that data-driven solutions are robust, accurate, and effectively support decision-making across the organization. The Senior Data Modeler will be instrumental in designing and implementing the foundational data structures and models that power business intelligence and data science initiatives, ultimately driving innovation and operational efficiency.
• • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to deeply understand their objectives and identify opportunities where data can be strategically leveraged to enhance decision-making processes and achieve key business outcomes.
• • Partner with technology teams to meticulously analyze both functional and non-functional data requirements, translating these needs into comprehensive data architectural design solutions that align with current and future business and technology initiatives.
• • Conduct thorough assessments of existing data sources and data gathering techniques to evaluate their effectiveness, accuracy, and suitability for intended analytical purposes, recommending improvements or alternative approaches as necessary.
• • Design sophisticated data structures, intricate data models (at conceptual, logical, and physical levels), and efficient data pipelines, working in conjunction with subject matter experts to deliver advanced business intelligence and data science capabilities.
• • Actively participate in an agile, multi-disciplinary team environment, collaborating seamlessly with data engineers, data analysts, UX designers, and scrum masters to ensure the successful and timely delivery of data solutions.
• • Engage with Data Scientists to optimize both batch and real-time data processes, focusing on critical areas such as feature engineering, model training, and the efficient serving of predictions.
• • Proactively research, promote, and develop data architecture best practices, establishing clear guidelines, procedures, and scalable frameworks to ensure consistency, quality, and maintainability across all data initiatives.
• • Participate actively in architecture, governance, and design review meetings, providing expert insights and contributing to the strategic direction of VSP Vision's data ecosystem.
• • Evaluate existing and emerging analytical technologies, conducting research and providing well-reasoned recommendations to leadership on potential adoption and integration.
