- • Own end-to-end delivery of data platform projects from problem definition through to deployment and iterative improvement, ensuring solutions are pragmatic, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
- • Design, build, and maintain data-intensive systems that enable fast, reliable analytics across product, analytics, and engineering teams, directly impacting decision-making velocity.
- • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, analytics, and engineering to gather context, align stakeholders, and ensure successful delivery of data-driven initiatives.
- • Operate with high autonomy in a dynamic environment, proactively identifying bottlenecks and opportunities to improve data accessibility, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
- • Architect and evolve the modern data platform using Snowflake as the core warehouse, integrating data via Fivetran and transforming it with dbt to support real-time and batch analytics workloads.
- • Implement infrastructure as code using Terragrunt and Terraform to manage cloud resources on AWS, ensuring reproducible, secure, and scalable data infrastructure.
- • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Argo to automate testing, deployment, and monitoring of data pipelines and platform services.
- • Leverage cloud-native technologies including Kafka and RabbitMQ for streaming data ingestion, S3/Parquet for storage, and Kubernetes for orchestration of data workloads.
- • Integrate observability tooling such as Datadog and Grafana to monitor system performance, detect anomalies, and ensure platform reliability and uptime.
- • Apply modern data architecture patterns (Lambda/Kappa) to design systems that balance latency, throughput, and accuracy for diverse analytical use cases.
- • Make informed build-vs-buy decisions by evaluating third-party tools against in-house capabilities, prioritizing long-term maintainability and team velocity.
- • Continuously improve development practices by integrating AI tooling and automating repetitive tasks to enhance engineering productivity and reduce technical debt.
- • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, translating business requirements into technical specifications and vice versa.
- • Manage multiple concurrent streams of work without compromising quality, balancing speed of delivery with long-term scalability and security requirements.
- • Shape the future of how teams interact with data at Lendable by setting standards for data governance, access control, and operational best practices.
- • Maintain strong focus on cost optimization, security, and compliance across all data systems, leveraging HashiCorp Vault for secrets management and AWS-native security controls.
- • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies in workflows and proposing data-driven solutions to enhance platform performance and team effectiveness.
- • Participate in the full lifecycle of data products, including requirement gathering, prototyping, testing, deployment, and post-launch iteration based on user feedback and usage metrics.
- • Stay current with evolving data engineering trends and evaluate emerging technologies to determine their applicability to Lendable’s platform and business goals.
🎯 Requirements
- • Solid programming ability in Python or a similar language
- • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake or comparable cloud data warehouses
- • Proven experience building data-intensive systems at scale
- • Demonstrated proficiency with AWS cloud services and infrastructure
- • Experience implementing infrastructure as code using Terraform or Terragrunt
- • Familiarity with modern data architectures such as Lambda or Kappa
