📋 Description
- • As a Senior Data Risk Specialist at Fragomen, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity and security of our vast data landscape. This position is instrumental in identifying, assessing, and managing data-related risks, ensuring that Fragomen's operations, systems, and processes adhere to the highest standards of data governance and compliance. You will be at the forefront of developing and implementing robust data risk management strategies, contributing directly to the firm's reputation for excellence and trustworthiness in the global immigration services sector.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to execute and support comprehensive data risk identification, assessment, lifecycle management, and control activities. This involves meticulously maintaining the data risk register, a critical document that tracks potential threats, their impacts, existing controls, and remediation efforts. You will be a key contributor to the development and upkeep of essential governance artifacts, ensuring that our data practices align with internal policies and external regulations.
- • A significant aspect of this role involves partnering closely with various departments, including Data Management, Technology, Legal, Compliance, and Business units. Through these collaborations, you will work to develop effective data risk controls, evaluate their ongoing effectiveness, and ensure that identified risks are addressed proactively and comprehensively across all data-related processes and systems.
- • You will actively participate in the full data risk lifecycle, from the initial identification of potential risks through to their mitigation, continuous monitoring, and eventual closure. This end-to-end involvement ensures a thorough and systematic approach to risk management.
- • The role requires you to assist in the development, documentation, and maintenance of critical data risk policies, standards, and procedures. Your contributions will help shape the firm's data risk framework, providing clear guidelines and best practices for all employees.
- • You will also be responsible for supporting regulatory, audit, and compliance inquiries related to data risk. This includes preparing necessary documentation, responding to requests, and ensuring that Fragomen is well-positioned to meet all external scrutiny.
- • Contributing to risk reporting is another key function. You will help prepare risk reports, develop key metrics, and create management summaries that clearly articulate the state of data risk to senior leadership, enabling informed decision-making.
- • Your expertise will be leveraged to make a tangible impact at Fragomen. This includes identifying and documenting data-related risks across all relevant processes, ensuring that the data risk register is consistently maintained and updated with detailed information on risk descriptions, impact assessments, controls, and remediation status.
- • You will be a key player in supporting the entire data risk lifecycle, from initial identification to mitigation, monitoring, and closure, ensuring a systematic and thorough approach.
- • Collaborating with Data Management, Technology, Legal, Compliance, and Business teams will be essential for developing and evaluating the effectiveness of controls designed to mitigate data risks.
- • You will contribute to the creation and maintenance of data risk policies, standards, and procedures, strengthening the firm's overall data governance framework.
- • Supporting regulatory, audit, and compliance requests by providing necessary information and documentation will be a regular part of your duties.
- • You will also play a role in developing and delivering risk reporting, metrics, and executive-level summaries to inform stakeholders.

🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data risk, enterprise risk, operational risk, data governance, compliance, or closely related disciplines.
- • Proven experience in maintaining risk registers and actively supporting risk assessment processes.
- • Working knowledge of core data management concepts, including data quality principles and the data lifecycle.
- • Demonstrated experience in drafting or contributing to the development of policies, procedures, standards, or governance artifacts.
- • Familiarity with established risk and control frameworks (e.g., COSO, NIST) and relevant compliance requirements.
- • Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.
