- • Own and manage all People & Talent (P&T) data assets, including data models, pipelines, documentation, and governance across HR and recruiting systems to ensure accuracy, scalability, and compliance.
- • Build and maintain scalable dashboards, reports, and self-serve analytics tools that support decision-making for People & Talent, Finance, Revenue Strategy, and Engineering teams.
- • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize analytics requests, manage the P&T data roadmap, and drive improvements in automation, data quality, and end-user access workflows.
- • Act as the subject matter expert on people data, defining metrics, troubleshooting data issues, and guiding users on interpretation while enforcing strict governance and privacy standards for sensitive HR data.
- • Enable AI-powered and self-serve analytics use cases by identifying opportunities to enhance the P&T analytics ecosystem with automation, predictive modeling, and LLM-driven insights.
- • Design and implement context layers that make people data more accessible and actionable across the organization, improving usability for non-technical HR and business partners.
- • Develop and maintain data pipelines using cloud platforms such as Databricks (including Delta tables) and transformation frameworks like dbt to support real-time and batch analytics.
- • Translate ambiguous business challenges in HR and recruiting into structured analytics projects, applying causal inference, experimentation, or forecasting to explain key metric changes.
- • Collaborate with HRIS and ATS teams (e.g., BambooHR, Ashby) to understand data quirks, unique identifiers, and update patterns, ensuring accurate integration and modeling of HR data.
- • Uphold rigorous data governance, user access controls, and privacy standards specific to sensitive personnel and recruitment data across global operations.
- • Continuously identify and implement improvements to automate manual reporting, reduce data latency, and increase self-service capabilities for P&T and cross-functional teams.
- • Work closely with Engineering and Finance to align people data infrastructure with broader company-wide data architecture and financial planning systems.
- • Document data definitions, transformation logic, and analytical methodologies clearly for auditability and knowledge sharing across teams.
- • Leverage notebook-based analytics platforms (e.g., Hex) to prototype, share, and deploy analytical insights with stakeholders.
- • Stay current with emerging trends in AI-enabled HR analytics and evaluate new tools or techniques to enhance the speed and precision of people decisions.
- • Support global growth by ensuring P&T data systems scale effectively across Airwallex’s 26 international offices and diverse workforce.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related quantitative field with end-to-end ownership of data models, pipelines, and dashboards in a production environment
- • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related field
- • Strong hands-on proficiency in SQL and Python and/or R, with experience working with large and complex datasets, data transformations, and building robust data solutions
- • Experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks (including Delta tables) and transformation frameworks like dbt
- • Hands-on experience with HR and recruiting data systems (e.g., BambooHR, Ashby, HRIS/ATS), including knowledge of data quirks, unique identifiers, and common update patterns
- • Proven ability to translate ambiguous business challenges into clear analytics projects, apply structured problem-solving, and communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
