📋 Description

• The Senior Database Administrator will play a critical role in supporting Business Wire’s mission-critical database systems during its digital transformation, ensuring reliable press release distribution and regulatory disclosure services for global clients.
• Day to day, the role involves partnering with application development teams to provide database guidance, troubleshooting, and optimization; performing routine DBA duties like backups, monitoring, and user access management; documenting database environments and data mappings; reviewing DDL and application code; and supporting failover testing and 24x7 on-call rotations.
• The DBA team collaborates closely with Engineering, Architecture, and Operations to maintain high availability, security, and performance across public cloud and traditional data center environments while driving innovation through automation and process improvement.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in enterprise Oracle database administration, gain hands-on experience with modern DevOps tools and cloud architectures, and contribute to designing resilient, scalable database solutions that support mission-critical business operations.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on Oracle database administration experience in a mission critical 24x7 environment
• Software development experience with Java, React, Typescript, Python, Node, Go, or similar
• Experience with full database lifecycle management: upgrades, patching, cloning, backups, and recovery
• Experience creating and maintaining enterprise data dictionary
• Experience with ETL processes
• Understanding of Unix operating systems
