Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Architect and own the evolution of our Ruby on Rails e-commerce engine that processes millions of dollars in transactions every month. You will design scalable service boundaries, refactor legacy monoliths into cohesive domain-driven modules, and ensure that every line of code you ship directly improves the purchasing journey for 10 million patients.
- • Lead the end-to-end implementation of new checkout flows, subscription logic, and promotional engines. From white-boarding data models to writing GraphQL mutations, you’ll translate complex business rules into elegant, test-covered Ruby that delights both patients and the 100,000 practitioners who rely on us.
- • Build rock-solid integrations with external partners such as Stripe (payments), Avalara (tax), and NetSuite (ERP). You’ll own the retry logic, idempotency keys, webhooks, and audit trails that keep revenue flowing and compliance officers smiling—even when third-party APIs hiccup.
- • Craft an internal, versioned API that empowers other Fullscript teams to launch features faster. You’ll define GraphQL schemas, write clear documentation, and provide SDKs so that colleagues can safely extend the cart, pricing, and inventory subsystems without stepping on each other’s toes.
- • Hunt down performance bottlenecks at scale: N+1 queries, memory bloat, slow serializers, and cold cache misses. You’ll add targeted indexes, introduce read replicas, pre-compute aggregates, and ship observability dashboards that turn metrics into actionable insights.
- • Champion technical excellence by establishing coding standards, introducing static analysis, and rolling out continuous-deployment guardrails. You’ll run architecture guilds, perform deep-dive code reviews, and mentor junior engineers through pair programming and lunch-and-learn sessions.
- • Collaborate daily with product managers, UX designers, data analysts, and front-end engineers in a fully remote, async-first environment. You’ll demo prototypes, refine acceptance criteria, and use A/B tests to prove that your optimizations lift conversion rates and patient adherence.
- • Contribute to the broader engineering culture: speak at our internal tech talks, open-source reusable gems, and help interview the next generation of Fullscript builders. Your influence will ripple across teams and shape how Canada’s fastest-growing health-tech platform scales for the next decade.
