Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Senior DevOps Engineer at Lucidworks, Inc. plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of the company’s cloud-based Fusion platform, which powers search and discovery experiences for major global enterprises across retail, finance, manufacturing, and B2B sectors. This role directly impacts customer success by enabling seamless, high-availability search experiences that drive engagement and operational efficiency.
  • • The person will design, implement, and maintain automated infrastructure and deployment pipelines for managed Fusion clusters in public cloud environments, ensuring systems are secure, observable, and resilient under high load while reducing manual toil through IaC and CI/CD practices.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include provisioning and managing Kubernetes-based clusters using tools like Terraform and Helm, monitoring system health via Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack, troubleshooting production incidents with root-cause analysis, and implementing automated scaling and self-healing mechanisms.
  • • The role involves collaborating closely with software engineering, SRE, and customer success teams to align platform capabilities with customer needs, participating in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 service availability, and continuously improving platform reliability through chaos testing, capacity planning, and performance benchmarking.
  • • The Cloud Platform team at Lucidworks is a mission-driven, engineering-focused group dedicated to delivering enterprise-grade search infrastructure at scale. They operate with a strong DevOps culture, emphasizing automation, observability, and customer-centric innovation, and are trusted by industry leaders like American Airlines, Lenovo, Red Hat, and Cisco to power mission-critical applications.
  • • The company fosters a culture of inclusion and innovation, valuing diverse perspectives and backgrounds, and provides engineers with the autonomy to solve complex problems using cutting-edge cloud technologies while contributing to products that impact millions of end-users globally.
  • • In this role, the engineer will deepen expertise in cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes operations, infrastructure-as-code, and observability at scale, while gaining experience in managing multi-tenant SaaS platforms under strict SLAs—skills that are highly transferable and in high demand across the tech industry.
  • • The individual will have the opportunity to influence architectural decisions, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to open-source-adjacent tooling and internal platforms, positioning them as a technical leader in cloud operations and DevOps excellence within a growing, impact-driven organization.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Operations with proven expertise in managing production Kubernetes environments at scale.
  • • Strong proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or similar) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or ArgoCD).
  • • Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including networking, IAM, storage, and managed services (EKS, AKS, GKE, RDS, etc.).
  • • Deep familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, or New Relic) and incident response methodologies.
  • • Experience with containerization, service meshes (Istio, Linkerd), and Helm charts for application packaging and deployment.
  • • Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing), and scripting (Bash, Python, or Go) for automation and tooling.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans with employer contributions.
  • • Generous paid time off (PTO) and company holidays, plus flexible remote work arrangements.
  • • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching to support long-term financial wellness.
  • • Professional development stipend for certifications, courses, and conferences.
  • • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offering mental health, legal, and financial counseling resources.
  • • Equity compensation opportunities to share in the company’s long-term success.
