📋 Description

• As a Senior DevOps Engineer/SRE at Cision Ltd., you will be instrumental in ensuring the unwavering reliability, seamless scalability, robust security, and optimal performance of our mission-critical services. This remote role, based in India, offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our infrastructure and contribute to a globally recognized leader in PR, marketing, and social media management technology.
• You will take ownership of the entire lifecycle of our key production services, from the initial architectural design and implementation phases through to ongoing maintenance and evolution. This involves a deep dive into various technical disciplines, ensuring that our services not only meet but exceed industry standards for availability and resilience.
• A core aspect of your role will be to collaborate closely with a diverse range of cross-functional teams, including software development, operations, and product management. Your expertise will be crucial in developing and maintaining resilient, fault-tolerant infrastructure that can withstand high loads and unexpected events.
• You will serve as a technical leader and mentor, providing expert guidance and sharing best practices in SRE and DevOps principles with engineers across the organization. This includes fostering a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and operational excellence.
• As part of our commitment to 24x7 service availability, you will actively participate in our on-call rotation. This ensures that critical services remain uninterrupted, and any incidents are addressed promptly and effectively, minimizing downtime and impact on our clients.
• Driving standardization and comprehensive documentation efforts is a key responsibility. You will develop and maintain clear, concise documentation for infrastructure, processes, and runbooks, promoting efficiency, consistency, and enabling easier onboarding and knowledge transfer for team members.
• You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing highly available and scalable Kubernetes clusters, leveraging your extensive expertise in containerization technologies.
• You will architect and implement robust Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform and Ansible to automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring consistency and repeatability.
• You will contribute to the development and maintenance of sophisticated CI/CD pipelines, automating software delivery processes and integrating security testing (SAST/DAST) to ensure the quality and security of our deployments.
• You will implement and manage advanced monitoring and alerting systems using tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, providing deep insights into system performance, identifying potential issues proactively, and enabling rapid response to incidents.
• You will apply your deep understanding of SRE principles, including Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), toil reduction, uptime maximization, and observability, to continuously improve our services.
• You will play a key role in enhancing the security posture of our infrastructure and services, implementing and enforcing security best practices throughout the development and operational lifecycle.
• You will leverage your strong coding skills in an Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) language to develop automation tools, scripts, and solutions that enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
• You will contribute to the management and scaling of Elasticsearch clusters, ensuring optimal performance and availability for our data-intensive applications.
• You will collaborate with teams to ensure the reliability and performance of our database systems, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Kafka, if applicable.
• You will utilize your solid understanding of networking fundamentals to design, troubleshoot, and optimize network configurations for our cloud environments.
• You will apply your robust Linux or Windows administration experience to manage and maintain our server infrastructure efficiently and securely.
• You will be a proactive problem-solver, identifying and resolving complex technical challenges related to infrastructure, performance, and reliability.
• You will contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous learning, staying abreast of the latest trends and technologies in the DevOps and SRE space.
• You will work with a global team, contributing to a dynamic and fast-paced environment, helping Cision elevate its infrastructure to the next level and continue its leadership in the market.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or Software Engineering roles.
• Extensive, hands-on expertise with Kubernetes at scale, including deep knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
• Proven proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Strong coding skills in an Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) language (e.g., Python, Go, Java) and the ability to develop effective scripting solutions.
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms, with expert-level experience in AWS and/or GCP.
• Comprehensive knowledge of SRE principles, including SLIs, SLOs, SLAs, toil reduction, uptime, and observability.
