- • Trility Consulting is a Great Place to Work® Certified company, renowned for fostering a robust remote-work culture where individuals are empowered to thrive, grow, and support one another. While headquartered in Central Iowa, we champion flexible schedules and seamless collaboration across our geographically dispersed teams, serving a diverse clientele throughout the United States and on a global scale.
- • We are actively seeking individuals who possess the inherent 'grit' required to pioneer new paths, demonstrate resilience in overcoming challenges, and adapt proactively to evolving client needs, even when faced with discomfort. A commitment to delivering on our promises is paramount.
- • Our ideal candidates will demonstrate a profound respect for people, understand that transparent and frequent communication is essential, and excel at solving complex problems. A passion for building effective teams and a dedication to delivering what clients truly value, rather than adhering to personal predispositions, are key attributes.
- • Candidates should grasp the concept of value proposition, relish in delivering tangible value, and take immense pride in continuously learning the expansive and ever-changing landscape of our clients' businesses. Self-motivation and a relentless drive for self-improvement, striving to be better today than yesterday, are fundamental.
- • In this pivotal role, you will serve as a Senior DevSecOps Consultant, tasked with the critical mission of designing and implementing a CMMC-aligned GitLab platform specifically tailored for a regulated space/aerospace environment. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of architecting, deploying, and rigorously hardening a self-managed GitLab environment hosted on Kubernetes.
- • A significant aspect of this role involves leveraging Crossplane to facilitate infrastructure as code, ensuring the platform is not only secure but also scalable and maintainable for long-term operational use by internal teams.
- • You will engage in close collaboration with the platform chief architect and various engineering teams. This partnership is essential for defining strategic architecture decisions, implementing robust secure configuration-as-code practices, and meticulously ensuring that the developed platform adheres to stringent CMMC and NIST 800-171 compliance requirements.
- • Your responsibilities will encompass the full lifecycle of the GitLab platform, from initial design and architecture through to deployment, security hardening, and ongoing operational enablement.
- • You will be instrumental in translating complex regulatory requirements (CMMC, NIST 800-171) into practical, implementable DevSecOps solutions within the GitLab ecosystem.
- • This includes defining and enforcing security policies, access controls, and auditing mechanisms to meet the compliance mandates of a sensitive industry.
- • You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining secure CI/CD pipelines within GitLab, ensuring that code is built, tested, and deployed in a secure and compliant manner.
- • This involves integrating security scanning tools (SAST, DAST, SCA) into the pipelines and developing strategies for vulnerability management and remediation.
- • The role requires a deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture and best practices for deploying and managing applications in a containerized environment.
- • You will utilize Crossplane to automate the provisioning and management of cloud infrastructure and services, enabling a true infrastructure-as-code approach.
- • This includes defining custom resource definitions (CRDs) and providers within Crossplane to manage the specific resources required for the GitLab platform and its supporting infrastructure.
- • You will be expected to develop and document comprehensive operational runbooks and procedures for the GitLab platform, enabling internal teams to effectively manage and maintain the environment post-deployment.
- • This involves creating clear guidelines for monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery.
- • Proactive identification and mitigation of security risks and vulnerabilities within the platform will be a continuous responsibility.
- • You will contribute to the overall security posture of the organization by ensuring that the GitLab platform serves as a secure foundation for software development and delivery.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a high-impact project within a critical industry, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to build a secure and compliant DevSecOps platform.
- • The successful candidate will be a thought leader, capable of influencing architectural decisions and driving best practices across engineering teams.
- • This is a remote 1099 position, offering flexibility and the chance to contribute to a leading consulting firm.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and hardening self-managed GitLab environments.
- • Strong expertise in Kubernetes, including deployment, configuration, and management of applications.
- • Hands-on experience with Crossplane for infrastructure automation and management.
- • Deep understanding of CMMC and NIST 800-171 compliance requirements and their application to DevSecOps practices.
- • Proficiency in developing and implementing secure CI/CD pipelines with integrated security tooling (SAST, DAST, SCA).
- • Experience with configuration-as-code principles and tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Helm).
🏖️ Benefits
- • Remote 1099 contract position offering flexibility.
- • Opportunity to work on a high-impact project in a critical industry (aerospace/regulated space).
- • Collaborate with a Great Place to Work® Certified company known for its strong remote culture.
- • Contribute to building a secure and compliant DevSecOps platform using cutting-edge technologies.
- • Potential for long-term engagement based on performance and project needs.
