- • Embark on a rewarding career as a Senior Drafting Technician with First American Financial Corporation, a company renowned for its unwavering commitment to its people and its long-standing legacy in commercial real estate transactions. As a vital member of our National Commercial Services team, you will play a crucial role in supporting licensed surveyors by preparing essential staking calculations, boundary and topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, and meticulously crafting legal descriptions. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, contributing to projects that span from modest commercial sites to expansive, heavily improved properties.
- • Your primary responsibility will involve leveraging your expertise in drafting software, specifically AutoCAD Civil 3D or Carlson Survey, to produce high-quality technical drawings. You will be instrumental in the Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) production of commercial surveys, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications. This role demands a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of spatial relationships to translate complex survey data into clear, actionable plans.
- • A significant aspect of your role will be providing direct support to our field crews. This involves the precise preparation of stakeout calculations, ensuring that surveyors on the ground have the accurate data they need for precise placement and measurement. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and accuracy of field operations, bridging the gap between office-based design and on-site execution.
- • You will be expected to manage a diverse workload, aligning your daily tasks with varying project scopes and critical deadlines. This requires exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively to ensure all project milestones are met. The dynamic nature of commercial real estate means that adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential.
- • Collaboration is key in this position. You will engage in regular interaction with the entire surveying team, including research specialists, field personnel, and project managers. This cross-functional communication is vital for ensuring project alignment, resolving any discrepancies, and fostering a cohesive team environment. Your ability to articulate technical information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, will be paramount to your success.
- • While a deep understanding of surveying principles is not strictly required, it is considered a valuable asset that can enhance your contributions. The role offers a unique opportunity to learn and grow within a supportive and innovative environment, where continuous learning and the acceptance of new responsibilities are encouraged. As you gain experience, you will have the chance to expand your skill set and take on more complex tasks.
- • First American's commitment to a 'People First' culture means you will be joining an organization that values individuality, inclusivity, and empowerment. You will be encouraged to bring your authentic self to work, contributing to a diverse and dynamic team. This role is not just about drafting; it's about being part of a company that prioritizes employee well-being and professional development, offering a pathway for growth and advancement within the surveying and geospatial industry.
- • The position is fully remote, offering the ultimate flexibility in your work arrangement. You will be equipped with the tools and support necessary to perform your duties effectively from your chosen location. This remote setup is designed to enhance work-life balance while maintaining high standards of productivity and collaboration. Your contributions will be recognized and valued, as you become an integral part of a leading organization in the title insurance and settlement services industry.
