Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • OLIX is at the forefront of a technological revolution, addressing the unprecedented demand for AI infrastructure by developing the next paradigm in computing: the Optical Tensor Processing Unit (OTPU). This groundbreaking technology promises performance and energy efficiency far beyond the capabilities of current chip designs, positioning OLIX to become a dominant force in the coming century.
  • • As a Senior Electronics Engineer at OLIX USA Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI hardware. You will be instrumental in the design, development, and validation of cutting-edge, high-speed, mixed-signal, and power-dense electronics that form the backbone of our revolutionary optical compute platforms.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of advanced electronics, optical computing, and artificial intelligence, contributing to a product that will redefine industry standards and unlock new possibilities in AI.
  • • You will collaborate closely with a world-class team of engineers across multiple disciplines, including ASIC, FPGA, Optical, Mechanical, Firmware, and Systems engineering. This cross-functional synergy is crucial for delivering robust, energy-efficient accelerator hardware, encompassing both standalone PCIe-based platforms and integrated rack systems designed for demanding, high-throughput environments operating at speeds of 25–56Gb/s and beyond.
  • • Reporting directly to the Electronics Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will span both hands-on technical execution and strategic technical direction. You will be involved in every stage of the design process, from initial concept and schematic capture through to layout, board bring-up, validation, and eventual transition to mass production.
  • • Key responsibilities include the meticulous design and development of high-speed, multilayer Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs). These boards must reliably support advanced serial interfaces such as PCIe Gen4/Gen5 and other SERDES-based links operating at speeds of 25Gb/s and above, demanding precise impedance control and advanced routing techniques.
  • • You will be responsible for implementing and validating sophisticated power delivery networks (PDNs). This involves designing high-current, low-voltage solutions tailored to the specific requirements of our advanced ASICs and FPGAs, ensuring stable and efficient power distribution critical for optimal performance and reliability.
  • • A significant aspect of your role will involve performing comprehensive Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) analysis. This analysis will be conducted throughout the schematic and layout phases, utilizing advanced simulation tools to predict and mitigate potential signal degradation and power delivery issues.
  • • You will contribute to defining critical PCB design parameters, including the selection of appropriate PCB stack-ups, the establishment of precise routing constraints, the implementation of robust impedance control strategies, and the adherence to effective return path methodologies to ensure signal integrity.
  • • A crucial part of the development cycle involves hands-on lab-based board bring-up and debug. You will be responsible for testing and validating the functionality of newly designed boards, performing high-speed compliance validation to ensure adherence to industry standards and performance specifications.
  • • You will also support the integration of various critical subsystems, including analog front-ends, sophisticated clocking architectures, and complex mixed-signal subsystems, ensuring seamless operation within the broader system.
  • • Your collaborative efforts will extend to ensuring system-level performance, manufacturability, and long-term reliability. This involves working closely with manufacturing partners and other engineering teams to address potential challenges and optimize the design for production.
  • • You will play an active role in Engineering Validation Test (EVT), Design Validation Test (DVT), and Production Validation Test (PVT) builds, contributing to the successful transition of our innovative products from development to mass production.
  • • Furthermore, you will be responsible for producing rigorous and comprehensive design documentation, including detailed schematics, layout files, analysis reports, and validation reports, ensuring clear communication and knowledge transfer within the engineering team and to external stakeholders.
  • • This role demands a proactive approach, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of electronic engineering in the rapidly evolving field of AI.
