📋 Description

• As a Senior Flutter Developer at Aphex Technologies Inc., you will play a pivotal role in transforming the construction industry by building high-performance mobile applications that replace outdated, error-prone spreadsheets with intuitive, real-time collaboration tools used by global contractors on projects ranging from £50 million to multi-billion-pound megaprojects.
• Your work will directly enable delivery teams at industry leaders like BAM, Balfour Beatty, SKANSKA, Kier, MACE, and Murphy to communicate progress on-site with reliability and speed, driving measurable improvements in an industry that has seen declining productivity for two decades despite contributing 10% of global GDP.
• Day to day, you will lead the development of production-grade Flutter applications using Dart, ensuring technical excellence and consistency across the codebase by establishing and evangelizing best practices in architecture, testing, and performance optimization.
• You will architect and implement robust offline-first capabilities, enabling seamless functionality in low-connectivity construction site environments through strategic data caching, synchronization protocols, and local state management.
• You will establish and maintain comprehensive unit, widget, and integration testing standards using tools like flutter_test and mockito, aiming for high test coverage to prevent regressions and ensure stability across devices and OS versions.
• You will design and drive scalable solutions using MVVM (Model-View-ViewModel) architecture, actively mentoring junior developers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing sessions to elevate team competency and foster a culture of technical ownership.
• You will solve complex technical challenges involving platform-specific integrations, state management at scale, and performance bottlenecks, applying precision and deep Flutter framework knowledge to deliver polished, production-ready features.
• You will communicate fluently and effectively with product, design, QA, and engineering stakeholders in English, translating user requirements and feedback into clear technical specifications and implementation plans.
• You will manage and mentor a team of Flutter developers, conducting regular 1:1s, providing constructive feedback, identifying growth opportunities, and promoting engineering excellence to build a high-performing, collaborative team culture.
• You will contribute to technical decision-making as a senior voice in architecture discussions, helping shape the long-term technical roadmap for Aphex’s mobile platform in alignment with business goals and scalability needs.
• You will stay current with evolving Flutter and Dart ecosystems, evaluating new packages, tools, and patterns (such as Riverpod, GoRouter, or Flutter 3.10+ features) to continuously improve development velocity and app quality.

🎯 Requirements

• Expert-level proficiency in Flutter and Dart, with a proven track record of building and shipping complex, production-grade mobile applications at scale
• Deep experience in architecting and implementing offline-first mobile applications using local databases (e.g., sqflite, Hive, Drift) and effective state management solutions
• Strong background in implementing MVVM or similar architectural patterns (e.g., Provider, Riverpod, Bloc) and mentoring others in their application
• Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive unit, widget, and integration tests to ensure code quality, stability, and maintainability
• Excellent communication skills in English, with experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and translating product requirements into technical outcomes
• Proven experience in mentoring or leading developers, fostering growth, performance, and a positive engineering culture
