📋 Description

• Senior Frontend Engineer, Alerting role at Grafana Labs, a remote-first open-source company powering observability for over 20M users and 3,000+ companies globally, including Bloomberg, JPMorgan Chase, and eBay, through the Grafana LGTM Stack.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include taking an active role in influencing the product roadmap and career objectives, working with the team to deliver new features and iterate based on results, driving projects from ideation to customer operations, embracing open-source culture by contributing to other projects, designing, building, operating, and maintaining critical systems with ownership of reliability, performance, and availability, participating in on-call rotations, mentoring and supporting team members, engaging in design discussions, and learning new skills through deep dives into the cloud product, customer use cases, and the large distributed system codebase.
• The Alerting squad operates at the core of the Grafana open-source project, working closely with customers and Grafana Cloud teams to ensure alerting works seamlessly on-prem and at infinite scale in the cloud, with recent projects including building distributed systems for alert ingestion and delivery, unifying alerting setup for Grafana and Prometheus-based alerts, and scaling alert evaluation to over 500 evaluations per second in production.
• The role offers opportunities to grow technical expertise in frontend systems at scale, contribute to widely used open-source software impacting critical infrastructure and medical devices, develop leadership through mentorship and cross-team collaboration, and shape a product trusted by major organizations worldwide, all within a culture of transparency, autonomy, trust, and innovation-driven engineering.

🎯 Requirements

• Work with React and Typescript
• Experience with Redux Toolkit + RTKQ to handle state and HTTP requests
• Work with the grafana/ui library and Saga design system
• Emotion for styling React components
• Use of Jest, React Testing Library and MSW for unit and integration testing
• Experience with Prettier, Eslint and other tools to automate code styling
• Webpack as a bundler
• Grafana is a mono repository, use of NX and yarn for managing workspaces
