📋 Description

• • Architect and own the Central API: you will design, document, and implement new REST and gRPC endpoints in Go that power every customer-facing feature of the ZeroTier platform, from network provisioning to policy enforcement. Your code will serve millions of daily requests with sub-100 ms latency and 99.9 % uptime.
• • Drive backend excellence: write idiomatic, test-driven Go services that integrate PostgreSQL for relational data, Redis for caching and pub/sub, and OpenFGA for fine-grained authorization. You will profile, tune, and scale these systems as our user base grows from millions to tens of millions.
• • Secure by design: embed security best practices—mutual TLS, zero-trust principles, least-privilege access—into every layer of the stack. You will lead threat-modeling sessions, review pull requests for security posture, and champion automated security testing in CI.
• • Shape the frontend when it matters: contribute roughly 30 % of your time to our Vue.js SPA, implementing user-facing flows such as device onboarding, network visualization dashboards, and real-time policy editors. You will ensure seamless data flow between backend APIs and reactive UI components.
• • Own the full lifecycle: from technical design documents and RFCs through coding, code review, automated testing, deployment, and post-release monitoring. You will instrument services with Prometheus metrics and Grafana dashboards, then act on the data to improve reliability and performance.
• • Mentor and elevate: provide technical guidance to mid-level and junior engineers through pair programming, architecture reviews, and brown-bag sessions. You will help establish coding standards, testing strategies, and deployment playbooks that raise the bar for the entire engineering organization.
• • Collaborate cross-functionally: work closely with product managers to translate ambitious roadmaps into executable epics; sync with customer success to understand pain points; and partner with DevOps to streamline our GitHub Actions–driven delivery pipeline running on Kubernetes.
• • Champion continuous improvement: run blameless post-mortems, propose architectural refactors, and experiment with new technologies—whether that’s evaluating WebAssembly at the edge or adopting GraphQL for internal tooling—to keep ZeroTier at the forefront of secure networking.
• • Influence product strategy: your deep understanding of distributed systems and user workflows will inform decisions on pricing tiers, feature prioritization, and long-term platform evolution. You will regularly present technical vision to the executive team and investors.
