Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the technical backbone of LI.FI's Checkout product as a backend-heavy full-stack engineer, designing and building end-to-end funding flow pipelines from UI components to backend services.
- • Design and implement integration patterns for external providers (onramp, exchange, payment) to normalize provider-specific behaviors into a consistent Checkout experience.
- • Define and maintain backend contracts between the Checkout UI, external provider systems, and LI.FI’s execution infrastructure, ensuring robust state handling across long-running and failure-prone workflows.
- • Build and maintain Checkout-specific backend capabilities including provider integrations, quotes, sessions, statuses, deposit addresses, and recovery flows.
- • Implement frontend work in React with TypeScript where necessary, particularly when UI states and backend contracts must be co-designed for alignment.
- • Drive cross-functional technical discovery with Core backend, Partner Portal, and adjacent teams (Composer, Earn, Intent Solver) to ensure architectural alignment and prevent drift.
- • Work within a GitOps CD chain using GitHub, Kubernetes, AWS, and CloudFlare to deploy and manage services.
- • Use Node.js with TypeScript in Docker containers for backend development, and interact with MongoDB and Redis for data persistence.
- • Communicate with blockchains using ethers.js and leverage Viem and Wagmi for frontend blockchain interactions.
- • Navigate complex, evolving codebases independently with minimal hand-holding, owning tasks end-to-end across multiple teams.
- • Contribute to UX improvements and recovery flows as part of a substantial product roadmap focused on provider integrations and partner-facing configuration.
- • Maintain strong communication in English within a fast-paced, high-growth environment where priorities evolve quickly.
- • Collaborate closely with the Core backend team to ensure architectural consistency and scalability across LI.FI’s ecosystem.
- • Participate in a culture that values ownership, bold decision-making, accountability, and learning from failure without fear.
- • Engage with the Web3 ecosystem by understanding transactions, block explorers, and how bridges and DEX aggregators function within product flows.
- • Contribute to product judgment by balancing technical execution with user experience and partner needs in a decentralized finance context.
- • Work remotely within the EMEA region, aligning with team hours and collaboration rhythms across time zones.
🎯 Requirements
- • Expert proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js for backend development
- • Proven full-stack ability with React and TypeScript, including experience with Viem and Wagmi
- • Demonstrated experience integrating external APIs with provider-specific edge cases, particularly around async flows, failures, observability, and recovery
- • Working-level Web3 knowledge: understanding of blockchain transactions, block explorers, bridges, and DEX aggregators
- • Strong product judgment and ability to navigate multiple codebases and teams independently without hand-holding
- • Excellent communication skills in English and comfort in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
🏖️ Benefits
- • 30 days of PTO
- • Flexible remote days and flexible working hours
- • Equity participation from day 1
- • Entitlement to work computer (choice of equipment)
- • Annual 1,000€ personal development budget after 6+ months of employment (pro-rated first year)
- • One-time 1,000€ remote budget for coworking or office setup

About LI.FI GmbH
LI.FI GmbH builds cross-chain liquidity aggregation infrastructure for decentralized applications. Its software development kit aggregates bridges and decentralized exchanges, enabling apps to offer token swaps and bridging across 20-plus EVM and non-EVM networks through a single integration. Founded in 2021 and headquartered in Berlin, the company provides routing algorithms, smart-order routing, and transaction simulation to reduce fragmentation in multichain DeFi. The platform serves wallets, decentralized exchanges, and Web3 applications seeking seamless liquidity access without managing multiple bridge integrations or liquidity pools.
