- • Serve as a strategic HR Business Partner to technical leaders in Research, Engineering, and Product teams based in Seoul, aligning people strategy with business and product priorities.
- • Partner with the Country Manager, Korea, and Global Head of People to shape and execute regional and global people initiatives, ensuring alignment with Twelve Labs’ mission and growth trajectory.
- • Lead end-to-end talent management for technical organizations, including performance reviews, calibration, promotions, leveling, and succession planning, with a high bar for technical talent.
- • Coach senior managers and technical leaders to build a high-performance, high-trust culture that fosters innovation and employee experience across Korea and globally.
- • Design and implement HR playbooks, frameworks, and feedback loops specific to Korea’s technical workforce, contributing insights to evolve global People programs.
- • Drive organizational design and workforce planning initiatives to support scaling of technical teams, including restructuring and change management during periods of rapid growth.
- • Partner with the global People team on employee lifecycle operations and employee relations, ensuring compliance with Korean labor law and fair, consistent practices.
- • Leverage people data and modern HR tooling to inform decisions, improve program effectiveness, and measure impact on organizational health and retention.
- • Act as a trusted advisor to technical leadership, influencing strategic decisions through data-driven insights and judgment rather than transactional HR support.
- • Build and scale HR infrastructure—including calibration processes, career architecture, and leveling frameworks—for technical and research roles, not just operate existing systems.
- • Influence organizational-level people strategy beyond direct client groups, with leaders proactively seeking your guidance due to your credibility and expertise.
- • Operate with high ownership in a fast-paced, ambiguous, high-growth environment typical of a frontier AI company with global teams.
- • Collaborate with global Recruiting and People Operations teams to ensure seamless talent acquisition and retention strategies tailored to Korea’s technical talent market.
- • Contribute to the evolution of global HR practices by translating local insights from Korea into scalable, cross-regional improvements.
- • Support the Country Manager, Korea, in shaping cross-regional people strategy, ensuring local context informs global policy without merely executing top-down directives.
- • Maintain deep understanding of how technical talent—especially ML engineers, researchers, and product builders—work, motivate, and grow within high-performance AI organizations.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years as an HR Business Partner or in talent management/organizational development, including senior-level partnership with technical leaders
- • Deep experience supporting Engineering, Product, or Research teams with understanding of technical talent dynamics
- • Demonstrated ability to build HR infrastructure (playbooks, calibration processes, leveling frameworks) rather than just operate existing systems
- • Proven track record in org design, talent management, performance systems, and succession planning
- • Business-level English and fluent Korean
- • Comfort operating with high ownership in fast-paced, ambiguous, high-growth environments
