Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (AI-First) at MUBI Limited, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological backbone that enables a global streaming service to deliver visionary cinema to audiences worldwide. This role goes beyond traditional infrastructure management by integrating agentic AI patterns into core operational workflows, allowing you to design intelligent automation that transforms how infrastructure is monitored, maintained, and scaled. You will be instrumental in building systems that not only ensure reliability and performance but also empower engineering teams through self-service tools and intelligent incident response, directly supporting MUBI’s mission to make great cinema accessible to everyone, everywhere.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include designing and implementing agentic workflows for infrastructure operations such as automated incident response, intelligent observability, and support ticket triaging using MCP servers and LLM-powered automation. You will architect and evolve MUBI’s EKS-based Kubernetes platform, manage global bare-metal CDN infrastructure, and extend CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, ArgoCD, and Helm. You’ll operate AWS infrastructure via Terraform and Chef, build Kubernetes operators and controllers, design event-driven architectures with Kafka, and maintain observability stacks including ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog. Additionally, you will define and uphold SLOs, automate toil-heavy processes, prototype using AI-assisted development, and collaborate closely with product engineers as a peer in building production-quality internal tools and services.
- • You will join a small, high-autonomy infrastructure team at MUBI that operates on SRE principles, where reliability, automation, and eliminating toil are core values. The team is globally distributed, with hubs in London, New York, Istanbul, Paris, Berlin, and Mexico City, fostering a collaborative yet independent environment where ownership and initiative are rewarded. MUBI’s culture values technical excellence, curiosity, and a passion for using technology to serve artistic mission — you’ll work alongside engineers who care deeply about both system integrity and the impact of their work on global film accessibility.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in AI-driven infrastructure automation, agentic systems, and platform engineering at scale. You’ll gain hands-on experience integrating LLMs into operational workflows, building secure MCP servers, and applying agentic patterns to real-world SRE challenges. You’ll also strengthen your leadership abilities by mentoring engineers, influencing technical direction, and shaping long-term platform strategy. This is an opportunity to grow as a technical leader in a unique domain where cutting-edge infrastructure meets the art of cinema, allowing you to leave a lasting impact on both technology and culture.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps, with a proven track record of building and shipping applications and tools — not just configuring existing systems.
- • Strong software engineering fundamentals and deep Kubernetes expertise, including understanding of cluster internals, operators, controllers, and production-grade workload management.
- • Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Linux, networking, and bare-metal server operations, coupled with a security-minded mindset when integrating AI and agentic tools into infrastructure.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Hybrid work model in London (2–3 days per week), with remote consideration for strong candidates outside the UK, offering flexibility and work-life balance.
- • Opportunity to work on innovative AI-first infrastructure projects involving agentic workflows, MCP servers, and LLM-powered automation at the forefront of SRE evolution.
- • High autonomy and direct impact in a small, expert team where your contributions shape core platform reliability, engineering velocity, and global service availability for a culturally significant streaming platform.
