Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • As a Senior Insurance Product Analyst at Kin Insurance, you will drive pricing accuracy and smarter risk decisions by advancing core models, shaping insights, and influencing strategy through advanced analysis—directly impacting how the company serves homeowners in high-risk, underserved markets.
  • • You will develop and maintain pricing and risk models with limited supervision, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and scalability while analyzing product profitability, loss trends, competitive positioning, and risk segmentation to inform pricing decisions.
  • • You will conduct competitive intelligence analysis using tools like InsureQuote, partner with underwriting and product teams on rate filings and state-specific pricing strategies (especially in Texas and other growth markets), and analyze catastrophic perils such as wind and hail to assess their impact on pricing and portfolio risk.
  • • You will leverage AI tools and advanced analytics techniques to improve efficiency, deepen insights, and accelerate analysis, while exploring new data sources and mentoring junior analysts through collaboration, template development, and knowledge sharing.
  • • Kin Insurance is a remote-first, mission-driven company founded in 2016 that simplifies and makes homeowners insurance more affordable—especially in areas affected by climate risk and outdated systems—using data, technology, and human support to build clear, fair products that empower homeowners.
  • • The company serves customers in 13 states and counting, has been recognized as a Best Place to Work by Built In Chicago (2021–2026), Forbes’ America’s Best Startup Employers (2021–2024), Inc. 5000, Forbes’ Fintech 50, and Great Places to Work Certified (2024–2026), reflecting its strong culture, growth, and commitment to meaningful work.
  • • You will join a team that values curiosity, ownership, lean operations, and data-driven decision-making, where your insights will directly influence pricing strategy, improve underwriting efficiency, and help scale Kin’s impact in key markets.
  • • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in catastrophe modeling, AI-enhanced analytics, and state-level insurance regulation while gaining influence over product strategy and mentoring others—positioning you as a trusted advisor and leader in pricing innovation within a fast-growing, profitable insurtech.

  • • Working knowledge of catastrophe risk concepts, including wind and hail exposure
  • • Experience with competitive analysis, market research tools, or platforms such as InsureQuote
  • • Ability to synthesize insights from multiple data sources to support pricing decisions

  • • Flexible PTO for exempt employees (15–20 days per year) and 8 company-observed holidays
  • • Paid parental leave: up to 14 weeks at 100% pay for birthing parents and 8 weeks for non-birthing parents
  • • Access to mental health support and confidential counseling resources
