Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • As a Senior IT Manager at Directive Consulting, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing our technology strategy, ensuring robust security compliance, and meticulously managing our IT budget. This pivotal role reports directly to the Head of Finance and serves as a cornerstone for the operational infrastructure of both Directive and Abe agencies. You will lead by example, acting as a 'Player-Coach' who is not only responsible for high-level strategic decisions but also possesses the technical acumen and willingness to dive deep into hands-on administration and complex problem-solving.
  • In this capacity, you will oversee an IT Manager who handles the daily logistical operations, freeing you to focus on strategic initiatives and critical escalations. Your responsibilities will span the entire IT lifecycle, from system administration and integration to security, compliance, and operational execution. You will be the go-to expert for high-level technical escalations, directly administer our core business systems, and provide essential support to the helpdesk during peak times. We operate in a dynamic, fast-paced, and nimble environment, requiring a leader who can seamlessly transition from strategic planning with the Head of Finance to troubleshooting intricate integration issues.
  • **Hands-On Systems Administration & Integration:**
  • Serve as the primary System Administrator for our suite of core business tools, including but not limited to NetSuite, Salesforce, Asana, PandaDoc, and Notion. You will personally manage complex configurations, intricate integrations, and ensure the seamless flow of data across Sales, Finance, and Operations departments.
  • Design, build, and maintain robust automations and API connections to ensure data integrity and efficiency across all business functions.
  • Proactively evaluate, recommend, and implement new technological tools that align with our strategic goals. You will own the entire process from technical setup and deployment to comprehensive user training for the organization.
  • **Security, Compliance & Governance:**
  • Lead the charge in executing and maintaining compliance frameworks such as SOC 2. This includes the critical tasks of gathering necessary evidence, managing audit requirements, and ensuring our practices meet the highest industry standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for responding to customer and vendor security questionnaires, playing a vital role in accelerating sales cycles and building trust.
  • Configure and rigorously enforce data governance policies across our distributed toolset, including Notion, Google Drive, and Stratos, to proactively prevent data silos and ensure data accessibility and security.
  • Directly manage and configure device security policies using modern Mobile Device Management (MDM) software, such as Kandji, to safeguard company assets and sensitive data.
  • **Operational Execution & Support:**
  • Function as the ultimate escalation point for all technical issues, demonstrating a strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Collaborate closely with the IT Manager to effectively manage the helpdesk queue, stepping in to resolve tickets directly and provide timely support to employees, thereby maintaining critical Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Develop, document, and execute comprehensive disaster recovery plans, robust data backup strategies, and essential business continuity protocols to ensure operational resilience.
  • Maintain high-level, accurate documentation for system architecture, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and internal knowledge bases, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and efficient operations.
  • Take full ownership of the IT budget, working in close partnership with the Finance team to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and optimize technology spend.
  • Conduct regular, thorough audits of our Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) ecosystem to identify opportunities for tool consolidation, manage subscription renewals effectively, and negotiate favorable vendor contracts to streamline cost structures and maximize value.
  • This role is ideal for a technically adept and strategically minded IT professional who thrives in a remote-first, dynamic environment and is passionate about building and maintaining a world-class technology infrastructure that directly supports business growth and operational excellence.
