Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the beating heart of Mimica’s AI-powered task-mining platform: the data-processing pipeline that ingests millions of desktop events per day, enriches them with ML models, and delivers privacy-safe, ROI-ranked process intelligence to Fortune-500 customers. Your code will directly influence how enterprises reclaim thousands of hours every week.
- • Architect, build, and harden Python services that run at scale on Google Kubernetes Engine. You will design streaming and batch workflows that move data through Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ/NATS, BigQuery, and specialized GPU workloads while guaranteeing sub-second latencies for real-time dashboards.
- • Lead the evolution of our core ML platform: containerise new models, wire them into feature stores, implement A/B experiment gates, and roll out canary releases with zero downtime. You will decide when to trade off throughput vs. cost, CPU vs. GPU, or streaming vs. batch to hit aggressive SLOs.
- • Champion observability across the Data Intelligence Team. Instrument services with Prometheus metrics, structured logs, and OpenTelemetry traces; build Grafana dashboards that surface CPU, memory, GPU saturation, and model-drift anomalies before customers notice.
- • Establish gold-standard Developer Experience (DevEx): introduce reusable CI/CD templates, helm charts, and automated test harnesses that cut build times by 50 %. Mentor backend and ML engineers through pair programming, design reviews, and brown-bag sessions to raise code quality across the org.
- • Act as the on-call expert for ML incidents—diagnose memory leaks in PyTorch pipelines, tune JVM heap sizes for feature stores, and coordinate hot-fix rollouts with SREs. Turn every incident into a post-mortem that strengthens both systems and culture.
- • Spearhead data-privacy initiatives. Implement differential-privacy layers, encryption at rest/in transit, and fine-grained IAM policies that satisfy SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR requirements without throttling data-science velocity.
- • Collaborate daily with Data Scientists to productionise new GenAI features—wrap LLMs behind scalable FastAPI services, add prompt-caching layers, and enforce rate-limiting to protect against token-cost explosions.
- • Drive cross-team technical strategy: evaluate whether to adopt Flink, Spark Structured Streaming, or a custom Rust micro-service for the next-gen event processor; present trade-off analyses to CTO and VP Engineering.
- • Own the full project lifecycle—from RFC and architecture review through coding, load testing, deployment, and post-launch monitoring—while mentoring junior engineers to do the same.
- • Contribute to hiring and onboarding: refine interview loops, craft take-home challenges, and run architecture deep-dives that help new starters ship their first PR on day three.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong proficiency with Python and Backend-Engineering
- • Background in solving complex technical challenges at the intersection of Software Development and Data/ML Engineering
- • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker and other cloud infrastructure, ops and containerised tools
- • Experience in designing, building, and maintaining data collection tools, caching/storage/streaming systems, and pipelines
- • Proficiency using message queues (Rabbit or NATS)
- • Knowledge of best practices for performance optimisation, memory management and observability
🏖️ Benefits
- • Generous compensation & stock options aligned with internal framework, market data, and individual skills
- • Fully remote work within UTC-7 to UTC+3; hubs available or co-working budget provided
- • Company-issued laptop, remote setup stipend, flexible schedules, ample PTO plus local public holidays
- • Enhanced parental leave, health & retirement benefits, annual learning & development budget (£500–£650)
- • Annual workaways and regular virtual & in-person socials

About Mimica Automation Ltd.
Mimica builds AI that observes how people use software, learns their repetitive clicks and keystrokes, and automatically generates RPA bots. Its flagship product, Mapper, records user actions for a few days, clusters patterns, and exports ready-to-run Blue Prism or UiPath workflows, cutting process-mapping time by 80-90 %. Targeted at enterprises with complex back-office operations, the London-based startup sells software licenses and implementation services to accelerate automation initiatives without lengthy manual documentation.
