Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • As a Senior Machine Learning Developer at Autodesk, you will play a pivotal role in building AI-driven software that empowers water and AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) customers to make smarter operational decisions through modeling, optimization, forecasting, simulation, and automation. Your work will directly impact how industry professionals design and manage infrastructure by integrating cutting-edge machine learning with real-world product data.
  • • You will develop and productionize machine learning systems that bridge advanced AI techniques with scalable backend services, ensuring models are not only accurate but also reliable, monitorable, and seamlessly integrated into customer workflows via modern APIs and Model Context Protocol (MCP) tooling.
  • • Day to day, you will implement, integrate, and optimize ML systems for forecasting, anomaly detection, simulation surrogates, and decision support, translating research-grade models into robust production components.
  • • You will build production inference pipelines, APIs, and containerized services that serve models at scale, ensuring low-latency responses and high availability for enterprise users.
  • • You will design LLM-powered applications using RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), tool-calling, and contextual Q&A frameworks, and develop agentic workflows that orchestrate multi-step tasks — including generating code to automate model-driven actions in design and simulation environments.
  • • You will implement MCP routes, schemas, and integrations to connect machine learning models with structured product data and engineering tools, enabling intelligent interactions between AI systems and Autodesk’s design platforms.
  • • You will ensure system reliability through rigorous CI/CD practices, unit and integration testing, performance benchmarking, and observability — monitoring for model drift, data quality issues, and service metrics to maintain trust in AI outputs.
  • • You will collaborate closely with platform, cloud, and product teams to deploy models across hybrid and cloud environments, troubleshoot integration challenges, and advocate for best practices in MLOps and AI engineering.
  • • You will stay current with state-of-the-art advancements in applied AI, including LLMs, multimodal models, and reinforcement learning, and actively contribute to improving models, tooling, and internal AI development practices through experimentation and knowledge sharing.
  • • You will join a mission-driven team at Autodesk that is committed to using technology to build a more sustainable, resilient, and innovative world — where your work helps customers design greener buildings, smarter factories, and safer infrastructure.
  • • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in production ML engineering, gain hands-on experience with LLM agentic systems and MCP integration, and grow as a technical leader shaping the future of AI in industrial design and engineering software.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • • 5+ years of combined software development and AI/ML experience focused on building and deploying production machine learning systems.
  • • Hands-on experience with ML libraries and frameworks such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, Ray, or similar tools for model development and training.
  • • Proven experience building APIs, microservices, containerized applications (e.g., Docker), and implementing CI/CD pipelines for reliable software delivery.
  • • Familiarity with time-series data, sensor data, simulation outputs, and basic cloud platform services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) for model deployment and scaling.
  • • Strong teamwork skills and a self-driven learning mindset, with the ability to independently explore new techniques and apply them to real-world problems.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive base salary aligned with experience and geographic location, part of a total compensation package that may include annual cash bonuses and stock grants.
  • • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits, along with wellness programs and mental health resources to support holistic well-being.
  • • Flexible remote work options, enabling collaboration from Ontario, Canada, while contributing to a global team.
  • • Access to professional development opportunities, including training, conferences, and internal mobility to grow your career at Autodesk.
  • • A culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, where employees are empowered to bring their authentic selves to work and thrive in a supportive environment.
