📋 Description

• As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at CoMind Technologies Inc., you will play a pivotal role in developing non-invasive neuromonitoring technology that transforms optical brain signals into clinically actionable insights, directly contributing to improved diagnosis and treatment of brain disorders in ICU settings worldwide.
• You will own the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of machine learning models for a novel time-series problem, ensuring algorithms meet rigorous standards for integration into a regulated medical device used at the patient bedside.
• Your work will bridge cutting-edge ML research and real-world clinical impact, enabling life-saving advancements in brain health monitoring through innovative, production-grade AI solutions.
• Day to day, you will lead the design, benchmarking, and validation of ML model architectures tailored to physiological signal inference, selecting optimal approaches for this novel and complex time-series challenge.
• You will drive end-to-end delivery of ML workstreams, owning strategy, execution, and risk management from problem definition through to production deployment and validation.
• You will develop and maintain robust, reproducible training pipelines, evaluation frameworks, and experiment workflows that ensure scientific rigor and engineering reliability.
• You will write production-quality Python code, preparing validated algorithm modules for seamless handover to software engineering teams while adhering to best practices in ML engineering.
• You will collaborate closely with physicists, neuroscientists, and clinicians to translate domain expertise into meaningful modelling constraints, architecture decisions, and training strategies grounded in clinical reality.
• You will actively engage with the ML research literature, identifying and evaluating advances in time-series analysis, signal processing, and related fields to keep CoMind at the forefront of innovation.
• You will contribute to scientific output by authoring publications, patent disclosures, and technical documentation that strengthen CoMind’s credibility in both academic and regulatory arenas.
• You will champion an AI-first culture, consistently applying and exploring new ways to leverage artificial intelligence in daily work to enhance collaboration, innovation, and problem-solving across the team.
• You will work in a hybrid model from CoMind’s Kings Cross office in London, attending in person at least four days per week with one flexible remote day, fostering strong team cohesion and access to specialized lab and clinical resources.
• You will operate within a mission-driven, interdisciplinary environment where ML is not just a tool but a foundational pillar of how the company innovates in medical technology.
• You will have the opportunity to grow your expertise in regulated ML development, gaining experience with SaMD standards and IEC 62304 while contributing to technology that could reshape neurocritical care.
• You will achieve tangible impact by seeing your models transition from research prototypes to real-world clinical tools used to monitor and support critically ill patients.

🎯 Requirements

• Deep theoretical knowledge of machine learning, including a strong grasp of the tradeoffs between model families across neural networks, tree-based methods, convolutional architectures, transformers, and state space models
• A proven track record of getting ML models into production environments, not just research or academic settings
• Strong Python skills and end-to-end proficiency with the ML engineering stack, including experiment tracking, training pipelines, inference, and deployment
• Hands-on experience with time-series or sequential data, particularly addressing challenges like non-stationarity, distribution shift, and small/noisy datasets
• Experience developing ML models for hardware products, wearables, embedded systems, or edge devices
