- • Senior Machine Learning Engineer role at Reddit Inc. focused on building production ML systems that power core experiences like personalized recommendations, search, ranking, and intelligent advertising systems at internet scale.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, building, and deploying production-grade ML models; owning the full ML lifecycle from problem definition to monitoring; building scalable data and model pipelines; working with large-scale datasets to improve ranking and relevance; partnering cross-functionally with Product, Data Science, Infrastructure, and Engineering teams; improving system performance across latency, throughput, and model quality; researching and applying state-of-the-art ML techniques including deep learning, transformers, graph networks, and LLM evaluation/alignment; and contributing to technical strategy and long-term ML roadmap.
- • Reddit is a community of communities with 100,000+ active communities and approximately 126 million daily active unique visitors, making it one of the internet’s largest sources of information; machine learning sits at the heart of how users discover, connect, and engage with content across the platform.
- • The role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact systems that directly influence user experience, advertiser value, and business outcomes; contribute to technical strategy and architecture; shape the future of discovery, relevance, and monetization at Reddit; and work across Consumer and Ads organizations on a wide range of ML problems.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3-5+ years of experience building, deploying, and operating machine learning systems in production
- • Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Go, or similar languages with solid software engineering fundamentals
- • Strong grasp of ML fundamentals including classic statistical learning (XGBoost, Random Forests, regressions) and deep learning architectures (Transformers, CNNs, GNNs)
- • Hands-on experience with modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
- • Experience designing scalable ML pipelines, data processing systems, and model serving infrastructure
- • Ability to work cross-functionally and translate ambiguous product or business problems into technical solutions
