📋 Description
- • Senior Machine Learning Engineer leading model development for GenAI Security at Reddit, protecting AI traffic across employee tools, internal agents, and production user-facing systems by building zero-trust, defense-in-depth ML solutions.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include building and improving security-focused ML models (guardrail models, semantic classifiers, anomaly detection), owning the full ML lifecycle from problem definition to deployment and monitoring, designing rigorous evaluation suites for adversarial inputs, improving model precision/recall/latency, building repeatable MLOps workflows, partnering with cross-functional teams (ML Infrastructure, LLM Gateway, Safety, Privacy), translating security goals into measurable outcomes, and providing technical direction to engineers.
- • Reddit is a community of communities with 100,000+ active communities and 126 million daily active unique visitors, built on shared interests and trust; the GenAI Security team operates within SPACE (Security, Privacy, Assurance, and Corporate Engineering) to secure AI adoption by default.
- • The role offers opportunity to lead high-impact ML security initiatives, deepen expertise in adversarial ML and GenAI safety, shape MLOps practices across SPACE, work with cutting-edge deep learning architectures, and influence production AI systems at scale.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience building, training, evaluating, and deploying production ML or deep learning models
- • Hands-on experience with modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar
- • Strong practical understanding of the full ML lifecycle: problem definition, data ETL, feature engineering, training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, debugging, and retraining
- • Experience building data pipelines and working with large-scale datasets
- • Experience designing rigorous model evaluations, including precision/recall/F1, false positive analysis, threshold tuning, calibration, holdout sets, regression tests, and production-quality validation
- • Experience shipping production-quality software, preferably in Python and/or Go
- • BS degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- • Strong communication skills and ability to explain model behavior, risk tradeoffs, and technical decisions to cross-functional partners
