- • Senior Machine Learning Engineer role on Patreon's Relevance team, responsible for building ML systems that power fan discovery and content surfacing across the platform, directly supporting Patreon's mission to fund the creative class.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting exploratory data analyses and proof-of-concept ML models, collaborating with cross-functional partners (product, engineering, design, legal, trust & safety), preparing training data using crowdsourcing labeling techniques, training and iterating on models with novel techniques, deploying models to production with backend code when needed, and debugging models based on observability feedback.
- • Join a small, collaborative Relevance team focused on search, ranking, feed relevance, and creator-fan matching, working closely with MLEs on shared infrastructure and roadmap alignment while partnering with Data Engineering, Product, and Trust & Safety to deliver measurable platform impact.
- • Opportunity to deepen expertise in end-to-end ML lifecycle, contribute to systems serving 100M+ free and 25M+ paid memberships, influence creator-fan matching at scale, and grow technical leadership within a mission-driven company that values craft, learning, and inclusive innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in end-to-end machine learning team environments including data analysis, model building, production code writing, deployment, monitoring, and A/B testing
- • Proficiency in writing clean, robust code in Python or other languages with ability to give substantive feedback in code reviews
- • Experience debugging complex systems using systematic approaches
- • Skill in thoroughly analyzing datasets to develop product and customer insights
- • Ability to write clear technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
- • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
