- • This Senior Manager, Assembly Engineering role is critical to Semtech’s global supply chain, serving as the primary technical liaison between Semtech and its outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) partners in China, ensuring product quality, yield, and reliability meet stringent standards.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include leading process qualifications and new product introductions at OSAT sites, owning assembly yield and process quality metrics, conducting root cause analysis for excursions, driving continuous improvement initiatives, reviewing process control plans and engineering changes, providing DFM feedback to product teams, managing supplier relationships, and collaborating with Quality, Supply Chain, and Product Engineering on production readiness and customer issue resolution.

The Assembly Engineering team plays a pivotal role in enabling scalable, reliable manufacturing through strategic OSAT partnerships.
- • In this role, the individual will develop deep expertise in advanced semiconductor packaging technologies (wirebond, flip chip, eWLB, SiP, BGA), gain leadership experience in global supplier management, drive measurable improvements in yield and quality metrics, and influence Semtech’s assembly technology roadmap and supplier capability development.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
- • Minimum 8 years of experience in semiconductor assembly, packaging, or process engineering, with direct OSAT supplier management experience.
- • Proven track record in driving yield improvement, root cause analysis (RCA/8D), and process qualification for advanced packaging technologies.
- • Strong understanding of assembly processes, reliability standards (e.g., JEDEC), PFMEA, process control plans, and quality metrics (DPPM, Cpk, first pass yield).
- • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Product Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain in a global manufacturing environment.
- • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience developing technical talent and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
