- • Fortis Games Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, People Experience to join their dynamic and growing team. This pivotal role is responsible for shaping and managing the systems that foster connection and collaboration across the organization, ensuring a strong sense of belonging for all employees. As a fully distributed company, the Senior Manager will be instrumental in defining and operationalizing programs that support effective teamwork and community building, particularly within a gamer-centric culture. This is a strategic, hands-on position that requires both clear direction-setting and disciplined execution, offering a unique opportunity to significantly impact the company's culture and operational success.
- • The day-to-day responsibilities of the Senior Manager, People Experience are multifaceted and designed to cultivate a thriving internal environment. A core focus will be on Community Engagement, where the individual will design and implement internal programs and rituals specifically tailored to foster a sense of belonging within a gamer-heavy organization. This involves understanding the unique culture of gamers and translating that into engaging and meaningful employee experiences. Another key area is Remote Excellence, which entails defining and operationalizing programs that enable Fortizens to work together effectively as a globally distributed company. This includes developing best practices, toolkits, and enablement resources for managers and teams to ensure seamless collaboration across different locations and time zones. The role also encompasses On-Sites & Gatherings, requiring the design and execution of intentional in-person experiences that strengthen alignment, connection, and collaboration amongst teams. This involves end-to-end logistics and establishing consistent practices to maximize the impact of these crucial face-to-face interactions. Furthermore, the Senior Manager will provide a framework for and support the ongoing work of Guilds, which are the company's employee resource groups, ensuring they operate effectively as communities that bolster networking, professional development, and a sense of belonging for their members.
- • The Senior Manager will also be responsible for Employee Experience & Program Strategy, which involves designing and implementing a cohesive strategy that prioritizes robust community engagement and effective collaboration systems. This strategy must resonate authentically with game makers and align with the company's overall mission. A significant part of this will be helping to define and operationalize a practical Remote Excellence framework, translating high-level principles into clear norms, toolkits, and enablement for managers and teams. The role includes building and governing the global framework for company onsites and in-person gatherings, managing everything from end-to-end logistics to establishing consistent practices for teams to maximize connection and intentional in-person collaboration. Developing internal programs and rituals that strengthen connection and collaboration across teams will be a continuous effort. Championing and structuring Guilds to operate as effective communities, bolstering the network, professional development, and sense of belonging for their members, is also a key strategic objective.
- • In terms of Leadership & Operations, the Senior Manager will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to align on culture priorities and develop support for key initiatives. They will be expected to provide data-informed recommendations, while maintaining a strong bias toward action and execution. Managing the budget and vendors associated with employee experience initiatives will be a critical operational responsibility. This role offers a significant opportunity for professional growth, allowing the Senior Manager to build and grow with a seasoned team of accomplished talent who have left an impactful mark in their disciplines, both in and out of gaming. The successful candidate will contribute to Fortis Games' mission of changing how game studios operate and making great games that create a connected community, fostering an environment where people belong, celebrating diversity, embracing inclusivity, and driving growth.
- • The company culture at Fortis Games is centered around making great games that bring people together and redefining how game companies operate. They believe in building a sense of belonging through their games, their communities, and how they treat each other. Fortis Games aims to create powerful connections and lasting memories through their game communities and fosters a culture of diversity, equity, and belonging, where diverse skills, experiences, and backgrounds impact the games they make. The team is described as early but mighty, with a leadership team of game industry veterans, offering numerous opportunities for individuals to have a significant impact on both products and the company's overall direction. They value tackling difficult problems with direct and thoughtful communication and a team-first mentality.
