The Senior Manager will own and evolve the programs that define how Fortizens build community and collaborate effectively, ensuring a strong sense of belonging and operational excellence across the company. This role also involves providing leadership and operational oversight to a small team, while personally driving key initiatives from their initial design through to successful delivery, making a significant impact on both the company's products and its overall direction.
- • The day-to-day responsibilities of the Senior Manager, People Experience are multifaceted and designed to cultivate a vibrant and connected workplace. A core focus will be on Community Engagement, which involves designing and implementing internal programs and rituals specifically tailored to foster a sense of belonging within a gamer-heavy organization. This includes developing creative initiatives that resonate with the company's culture and employee base. Another key area is Remote Excellence, where the Senior Manager will define and operationalize programs that enable Fortizens to work together effectively as a globally distributed company. This involves establishing clear norms, providing toolkits, and offering enablement for managers and teams to thrive in a remote setting. Furthermore, the role encompasses On-Sites & Gatherings, requiring the design and execution of intentional in-person experiences. These events are crucial for strengthening alignment, connection, and collaboration amongst teams, even when they are geographically dispersed. The Senior Manager will also oversee and support Guilds, which are the company's employee resource groups, providing a framework and ongoing support for their work to ensure they operate as effective communities. This includes championing their structure and ensuring they contribute to the network, professional development, and sense of belonging for their members.
- • The Senior Manager will also be instrumental in developing and implementing a cohesive Employee Experience strategy, with a strong emphasis on robust community engagement and effective collaboration systems that authentically connect with game makers. They will help define and operationalize a practical Remote Excellence framework, translating high-level principles into actionable norms, toolkits, and enablement resources for managers and teams. A significant part of the role involves building and governing the global framework for company on-sites and in-person gatherings. This includes managing end-to-end logistics and establishing consistent practices to maximize connection and intentional collaboration during these events. The development of internal programs and rituals aimed at strengthening connection and collaboration across diverse teams will be a continuous effort. Additionally, the Senior Manager will champion and structure Guilds to function as effective communities, enhancing the network, professional development opportunities, and overall sense of belonging for their members.
- • In terms of Leadership & Operations, the Senior Manager will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to align on culture priorities and provide support for key initiatives. They will be expected to provide data-informed recommendations, balancing strategic insights with a strong bias toward action and execution. Budget management and vendor oversight for all employee experience initiatives will also fall under their purview. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and grow within a seasoned team of accomplished talent who have made a significant impact in their respective disciplines, both within and outside the gaming industry. Fortis Games is committed to changing how game studios operate, focusing on making great games that create a connected community and building an environment where people belong, celebrating diversity, inclusivity, and fostering growth.
- • This role is ideal for someone passionate about tackling difficult problems with direct and thoughtful communication and a team-first mentality. The Senior Manager will have the opportunity to significantly influence the company's culture and employee experience, contributing to its mission of creating games that bring people together and redefining how game companies operate.
