- • Senior Mechanical Engineer (Product Design) role at Samsara Inc. focused on industrial design, architecture, and engineering of products from concept to mass production, directly impacting safety, efficiency, and sustainability in global physical operations.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and shipping impactful products, evaluating feature tradeoffs, driving development through all phases (feasibility to go-to-market), validating products via testing and field analysis, owning the full customer hardware experience, leveraging JDM partners, researching industry trends, and embodying Samsara’s cultural principles.
- • Samsara is a pioneer in the Connected Operations™ Cloud, enabling organizations in agriculture, construction, transportation, and manufacturing to harness IoT data for actionable insights; the company is shaping the future of physical operations with products like Video-Based Safety and Vehicle Telematics.

🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience shipping hardware programs at scale in partnership with overseas partners
- • Proven record navigating tradeoffs between design, manufacturability, schedule, and cost in cross-functional environments
- • Experience developing and launching electromechanical components or products in mass production
- • BS degree in mechanical engineering or related field
- • Proficiency in plastic/metal part design, CAD modeling, and drafting, preferably using NX
- • Ability to travel up to 10% (domestic and international) when necessary
- • Hybrid (Tuesday-Thursday) onsite presence required at San Francisco Headquarters
