We are seeking a highly skilled Senior ML/AI Software Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our digital ecosystem.
• This remote position, based in the U.S., United Kingdom, or Belgium, places you at the forefront of innovation within our Store Publishing Operations & Commerce (SPOC) team. This team is instrumental in ensuring the trust, security, and seamless execution of transactions across PlayStation's vast digital store, processing billions of transactions annually.
• As a Senior ML/AI Software Engineer, you will be a key architect and implementer of large-scale automation initiatives, leveraging cutting-edge technologies like Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI to solve complex business challenges and enhance operational efficiencies.
• Your role will be a dynamic blend of machine learning expertise, robust backend engineering, and cloud-scale infrastructure management. You will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and deploying intelligent systems that empower our internal teams and elevate the player experience.
• We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record of building scalable, automated systems. You possess a unique combination of deep backend engineering knowledge and practical AI application skills. This includes hands-on experience with modern AI development tools such as LangChain, vector databases, and LLM APIs, integrated with essential backend technologies like microservices, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Your primary focus will be on creating resilient, intelligent, and cost-efficient automation solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, Data Science, and Data Engineering, to ensure the successful deployment and ongoing optimization of these critical systems.
• Key responsibilities include architecting, building, testing, and monitoring AWS-based workflows designed to address significant business problems. You will develop robust microservices using Python or Java, specifically for ML-driven applications, ensuring they are scalable, resilient, and performant.
• A critical aspect of this role involves guaranteeing high levels of service availability. This includes participating in an on-call rotation and adhering to best practices for disaster recovery and business continuity, ensuring our systems are always operational.
• You will champion automated deployment practices, ensuring all developed solutions are deployed in a repeatable and efficient manner. A significant part of your work will involve optimizing cloud infrastructure for both cost-effectiveness and performance, making intelligent use of resources.
• The role demands a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for automation and AI integration across various business functions within the SPOC team and beyond. You will contribute to the continuous improvement of our platforms and services through data-driven insights and innovative solutions.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience in machine learning, backend engineering, or AI platform development.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Python and Java for backend development and ML applications.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, specifically common AWS services (e.g., EKS/ECS, Kinesis, Lambda, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS).
• Proven experience developing, evaluating, and orchestrating agentic workflows using LLMs and generative AI tools.
• Strong understanding and practical experience with distributed systems and MLOps tooling, including Kubernetes, Docker, MLflow, Airflow, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a history of successful cross-functional teamwork.
