📋 Description

• Senior ML-Engineer role at FundraiseUp Inc., a leading fundraising platform powering donations for global nonprofits like UNICEF and the American Heart Association. You will join a high-impact, Russian-speaking engineering team of 150+ members across Spain, Serbia, Poland, and beyond, working remotely from Spain to build ML solutions that directly influence conversion rates, donation amounts, and user experience for enterprise clients in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia.
• Develop and deploy production ML systems across diverse business areas including uplift models, recommender systems, and e-commerce mechanics; design and implement LLM-powered features such as AI assistants, chatbots, and content generation tools; own end-to-end ML lifecycle from data preparation and model training to API development, monitoring, and MLOps; collaborate with 10+ product teams as an internal ML center of excellence, choosing optimal approaches — whether classical ML, reinforcement learning, or LLMs — based on problem context and business impact.
• Work within a tight-knit, collaborative product team that values open dialogue, knowledge sharing, and bi-weekly engineering meetups; operate in a flat, transparent culture with no politics, where engineers are trusted to break down problems, justify technical decisions, and deliver to production with ownership and curiosity.
• Deepen expertise in modern ML/LLM systems, including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and evaluation of generative AI; strengthen MLOps practices with MLflow, Airflow, Docker, and CI/CD; grow impact by connecting ML metrics (ROC-AUC, F1, RMSE) to business outcomes like conversion rate and LTV; advance technical leadership in a mission-driven environment focused on reducing friction in global philanthropy.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on ML/DS experience solving real product problems in production environments
• Strong expertise in classical ML algorithms (especially gradient boosting like CatBoost) and modern NLP/LLM approaches, with solid foundation in mathematical statistics
• Proficiency in Python (with uv, ruff, FastAPI, Pydantic), advanced SQL, and experience building complex datasets in ClickHouse and MongoDB; hands-on MLOps understanding including experiment tracking (MLflow), workflow orchestration (Airflow), Docker, Git, and CI/CD
