📋 Description

• Senior ML-Engineer role at FundraiseUp Inc., a modern fundraising platform powering donations for global nonprofits like UNICEF and the American Heart Association. This role is critical to enhancing donation conversion, optimizing user experience, and building intelligent systems that drive real-world social impact through technology.
• Develop and deploy ML solutions across diverse business areas including uplift models, recommender systems, and e-commerce mechanics; design LLM-powered features such as AI assistants, chatbots, and content generation tools; build end-to-end pipelines from data preparation and training to API development and monitoring; work across the full LLM lifecycle including golden datasets, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and response evaluation; collaborate with 10+ product teams as part of an internal ML center of excellence, applying classical ML, RL, and LLM approaches based on problem suitability.
• Join a tight-knit, high-impact product development team of 150+ engineers spanning Spain, Serbia, Poland, Portugal, Turkey, Cyprus, Georgia, and Armenia; operate in a Russian-speaking environment with strong English (B2) required for occasional cross-functional communication; thrive in a collaborative, knowledge-sharing culture with bi-weekly engineering meetups and open dialogue; contribute to a mission-driven organization serving enterprise clients in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia with a focus on reducing friction in nonprofit fundraising.
• Deepen expertise in production ML systems, MLOps, and LLM applications while connecting technical metrics to business outcomes like conversion rate and LTV; grow as a product-oriented engineer through ownership of end-to-end solutions, experimentation with cutting-edge techniques (CatBoost, CausalML, RAG, fine-tuning), and influence on ML strategy across teams; gain experience in a transparent, flat-structured company that values long-term contribution, offers equity, and prioritizes meaningful impact over politics.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of ML/DS experience solving real product problems in production environments
• Strong expertise in ML and mathematical statistics: solid knowledge of classical algorithms (especially gradient boosting) and understanding of modern NLP/LLM approaches
• Metrics-driven mindset: ability to connect ML metrics (ROC-AUC, F1, RMSE) with business metrics (conversion rate, LTV)
• Strong engineering culture: confident in Python with product-oriented approach; values clean code, design patterns, and solid engineering practices
• Data skills: advanced SQL; ability to independently build complex datasets in ClickHouse and work with MongoDB
• MLOps understanding: hands-on experience with experiment tracking tools and understanding of production workflows (Docker, Git, CI/CD)
• Autonomy: ability to break down problems, choose the right tech stack (or justify non-ML solution), and deliver to production
