Senior Mobile Engineer

📋 Description

• • Develop and deliver high-quality, native iOS and Android mobile applications using modern frameworks including SwiftUI, Combine, Async/Await on iOS, and AndroidX, Coroutines, Hilt, and Jetpack libraries on Android.
• • Own end-to-end development of key features for global B2B financial products, including payment management, expense submission and approval, and control of virtual and physical Airwallex cards with Apple Pay and Google Pay integration.
• • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and cross-functional engineering teams to design, implement, and launch intuitive, performant, and reliable mobile features.
• • Shape the long-term architecture and technical direction of Airwallex’s mobile apps, which were built less than three years ago, ensuring scalability and maintainability as the platform grows globally.
• • Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions and Bitrise to ensure reliable, automated builds and deployments.
• • Write clean, testable code with high test coverage and advocate for best practices in code quality, code reviews, and automated testing across both platforms.
• • Drive technical initiatives that improve developer experience, app performance, and user satisfaction, contributing to broader engineering strategy and team processes.
• • Act as a hands-on technical leader who mentors peers, shares knowledge, and actively participates in architectural decisions and technical debt reduction.
• • Participate in product planning and feature prioritization, bringing engineering perspective to product decisions and helping define the roadmap for mobile capabilities.
• • Build and maintain seamless integrations with backend services and APIs to ensure smooth, real-time functionality across all mobile user flows.
• • Contribute to the evolution of mobile development standards across the organization by documenting patterns, creating reusable components, and promoting adoption of modern development practices.
• • Address complex performance and reliability issues in production apps, including memory management, network efficiency, and crash prevention, to ensure top-tier user experience.
• • Work in a fast-paced, global environment with a founder-like mindset, taking ownership of projects from concept through deployment and post-launch monitoring.
• • Leverage AI tools and automation to accelerate development cycles, improve debugging efficiency, and enhance testing coverage without compromising code quality.
• • Engage in cross-platform coordination to ensure consistency in user experience, design patterns, and feature parity between iOS and Android applications.
