📋 Description

• As a Senior Network Architect at Worldwide Clinical Trials, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the global IT infrastructure that supports life-saving clinical research, ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and resilient to enable breakthroughs in medical innovation.
• You will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise technology solutions across global regions, directly impacting the reliability and performance of systems used by over 3,500 employees and partners in the pursuit of improving patient outcomes worldwide.
• Day to day, you will scope and execute IT strategy in partnership with business and IT leaders, aligning technical roadmaps with organizational goals to support clinical trial operations and digital transformation initiatives.
• You will manage the evolution of technical solutions hosted internally or externally, overseeing infrastructure hosted by Worldwide Clinical Trials or third-party vendors to ensure consistency, compliance, and performance across hybrid environments.
• You will provide deep technical expertise for the Worldwide Clinical Trials compute environment, including design, implementation, and support of VMWare, Citrix, SAN, DFS, DHCP, backup systems, server standards, Microsoft Azure, Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS), Windows Server, and Windows PC imaging, patching, and maintenance.
• You will design, implement, and support authentication systems using two-factor authentication, tokens, and biometrics, ensuring secure access to critical systems while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
• You will design, implement, and support security systems utilizing Microsoft Defender and other security tools, proactively defending against threats and safeguarding sensitive clinical and employee data.
• You will manage systems via Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), Microsoft Defender, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), and Microsoft Intune to ensure endpoint compliance, software distribution, and policy enforcement across global endpoints.
• You will define and revise IT architecture standards as needed, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, regulatory requirements (including GxP and 21 CFR Part 11), and emerging technology trends.
• You will implement and maintain IT infrastructure projects, tracking milestones, delivering regular updates, and providing clear communication to technical teams and upper management to ensure transparency and accountability.
• You will provide Tier 3–4 support for day-to-day management of infrastructure solutions, including Dell storage, servers, network connectivity, SAN, and backup systems, acting as an escalation point for complex internal and cloud-based issues.
• You will facilitate and manage effective monitoring and auditing of IT and security audit logs, investigating incidents, documenting events, reporting findings, and recommending preventative actions to strengthen security posture.
• You will perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and ownership in supporting the evolving IT needs of a global, mission-driven organization.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience managing and/or designing enterprise environments, including VMWare, Citrix, Windows Server 2008R2/2012R2, SCCM/WSUS, Active Directory, SAN, disk-to-disk backup, and/or Cloud IaaS, PaaS, SaaS; 7+ years acceptable with a bachelor’s degree in IT, engineering, or sciences.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and related networking technologies, with proven ability to troubleshoot complex enterprise technical issues.
• Scripting experience in Microsoft PowerShell or an equivalent language, with ability to automate system administration tasks.
• Knowledge of Computer System Validation (21 CFR Part 11, GxP) and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to manage network and datacenter maintenance or emergencies during non-business hours, evenings, and weekends.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure services including Active Directory, SCCM/WSUS, GPOs, ADCS, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, VPN, and IIS, with hands-on technical administration experience.
