đź“‹ Description

  • • Crusoe Cloud is at the forefront of the AI revolution, building the sustainable infrastructure that powers ambitious innovation. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Network Deployment Engineer to spearhead the physical and logical implementation of our expanding global network. As we rapidly scale our high-performance compute (HPC) and GPU-based AI infrastructure, this role is critical in bringing new data centers and edge sites online, ensuring the seamless integration of cutting-edge technology.
  • • This is a hands-on, technical position that harmoniously blends Network Engineering expertise with Data Center Operations and Project Management. You will not merely be executing predefined procedures; you will be instrumental in refining and defining the deployment standards for what is arguably the world's most innovative AI cloud. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that every network component – from switches and routers to intricate fiber optic links – is deployed precisely to specification, meticulously validated, and flawlessly handed over to our dedicated Operations team for ongoing management.
  • • You will lead the end-to-end execution of network infrastructure build-outs across both new and existing data center facilities. This encompasses the entire lifecycle, from the initial oversight of rack and stack operations to the final, comprehensive hand-off. Your role involves translating high-level network designs provided by the Network Development team into actionable, site-specific implementation plans. This includes creating detailed cable maps, developing precise configuration templates, and ensuring all aspects align with Crusoe's strategic network architecture.
  • • A significant part of your contribution will be dedicated to rigorous validation and commissioning processes. You will conduct thorough "Burn-in" testing and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for newly deployed network clusters. The goal is to achieve zero-defect handovers, providing our Operations team with a stable and fully functional network from day one. This meticulous approach minimizes post-deployment issues and ensures maximum uptime and performance.
  • • Embracing an automation-first philosophy, you will leverage powerful tools like Python and Ansible, alongside Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) methodologies, to automate the staging and configuration of hundreds of network devices concurrently. This significantly accelerates deployment timelines and reduces the potential for human error in large-scale rollouts.
  • • You will be responsible for managing and coordinating on-site partners, including remote hands personnel, structured cabling vendors, and data center facility providers. Your oversight will ensure that all physical layer infrastructure – including fiber paths, power requirements, and cooling solutions – meets Crusoe's exceptionally stringent HPC and AI compute demands. This requires a keen eye for detail and strong vendor management skills.
  • • Furthermore, you will play a key role in inventory and capacity management. This involves meticulously tracking global hardware assets and leading the "Turn-up" process for new backbone capacity and critical edge interconnects. Effective management of these resources is vital for supporting Crusoe's rapid growth and ensuring network scalability.
  • • Your expertise will be crucial in troubleshooting complex network issues, particularly those involving the physical and link layers. You will utilize specialized tools such as OTDRs (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometers), light meters, and packet capture analysis to diagnose and resolve problems efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to our services.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to be at the heart of a rapidly growing company, contributing directly to the infrastructure that powers the future of AI. You will work with state-of-the-art technology and collaborate with a talented team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of sustainable computing.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 8+ years of experience in network engineering with a significant focus on large-scale data center deployments and complex infrastructure projects.
  • • Mastery of Physical Layer Standards: Expert knowledge of structured cabling (SMF/MMF, MPO/MTP), optical transceivers (400G/800G), and data center power/cooling requirements.
  • • Strong Routing and Switching Knowledge: Hands-on experience configuring Arista (EOS), Juniper (Junos), and NVIDIA/Mellanox platforms within a leaf-spine architecture.
  • • Protocol Proficiency: Solid understanding of BGP, EVPN-VXLAN, and LLDP as they relate to large-scale fabric provisioning.
  • • Automation-First Mindset: Proficiency in Python and Ansible for automating repetitive deployment tasks and validating configuration state.
  • • Logistical Excellence: Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously across different time zones and physical locations.
  • • Troubleshooting Expertise: Ability to diagnose complex physical layer and link-layer issues using OTDRs, light meters, and packet captures.
  • • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience in hyperscale or ISP environments.
