• As a Senior Online Engineer at Visual Concepts, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the online infrastructure for our highly anticipated WWE 2K franchise. You will be an integral part of our dedicated online team, contributing to the development of impactful features and robust services that enhance the experience for both our players and our development community.
• This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with technical leads, product owners, and producers, ensuring the creation of the best possible online environment for our passionate and dedicated fanbase. Your contributions will directly influence the seamless and engaging multiplayer experiences that our players expect and love.
• Your responsibilities will span the entire lifecycle of online systems, from initial conception and design through to implementation and ongoing live operations. You will be instrumental in creating and enhancing critical online systems such as:
• Matchmaking: Developing and optimizing algorithms and infrastructure to ensure fair, fast, and reliable connections between players.
• Gameplay Systems: Integrating and refining online gameplay mechanics to deliver a smooth and responsive experience, minimizing latency and network-related issues.
• Automated Testing: Building and maintaining robust automated testing frameworks to ensure the stability, performance, and integrity of our online services.
• Live Operations: Supporting the deployment, monitoring, and management of live online services, ensuring high availability and quick resolution of any issues.
• Community Content Management: Developing systems that facilitate the creation, sharing, and management of player-generated content, fostering a vibrant community.
• Stability and Performance: Proactively identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks, bugs, and performance issues to guarantee a consistently stable and high-performing online experience.
• You will act as a key liaison between the game development team and our backend services team, effectively representing the game team's interests and specific requirements. This involves translating game design needs into technical specifications and ensuring that backend services are optimized for our game's unique demands.
• Furthermore, you will be responsible for representing crucial concerns such as security, scalability, and adherence to industry standards to the game teams. This ensures that our online architecture is not only functional but also secure, capable of handling massive player loads, and compliant with platform requirements.
• Working closely with technical leadership, you will be tasked with ensuring that all developed code meets the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and maintainability. This includes participating in code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to the overall technical vision of the online systems.
• Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You will actively engage with your team members, sharing insights, providing constructive feedback, and collectively identifying opportunities to improve design implementations and technical solutions.
• You will develop code specifically designed to facilitate complex statistical queries and implement essential hooks to enhance data gathering and provide deeper player insights. This data is crucial for understanding player behavior, identifying areas for improvement, and informing future game development decisions.
• This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, a deep understanding of network programming, and a commitment to delivering exceptional online experiences. 🎯 Requirements

• Fluent knowledge of C++
• Professional experience with Go (Golang) or strong willingness to work in Go
• 3+ years of experience on commercial game projects or in a related field
• BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
• A keen, analytical mind with strong problem solving, logic, and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent time management and organization skills
