đź“‹ Description
- • Trility Consulting is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Platform Consultant specializing in Kubernetes, Cilium, and Edge computing to join our dynamic, remote-first team. As a Great Place to Work® Certified company, we foster a culture of growth, collaboration, and mutual support, empowering our employees to thrive regardless of their geographical location. We serve clients across the United States and globally, tackling complex challenges and forging innovative solutions.
- • We are looking for individuals who possess the tenacity to break new ground, the resilience to overcome obstacles, and the adaptability to navigate evolving client needs, even when uncomfortable. Our team members are committed to delivering on their promises, respecting and valuing every individual, and understanding that clear, consistent communication is paramount. If you excel at solving intricate problems, have a passion for building and nurturing high-performing teams, and prioritize delivering tangible client value over personal preferences, this role is for you.
- • You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing a sophisticated distributed cloud-to-edge infrastructure. This role is centered on establishing a secure, scalable, and high-performance hybrid networking fabric that spans from centralized Kubernetes clusters to remote edge nodes. Your expertise will be crucial in enabling seamless and secure workload communication across these diverse environments.
- • A primary focus of this position will be the implementation of advanced networking solutions using Cilium, a powerful eBPF-based networking and security solution for Kubernetes. You will leverage Cilium's capabilities to create a unified networking and identity layer, ensuring consistent policy enforcement, encrypted service communication, and robust workload identity management across the entire infrastructure.
- • You will also play a key role in integrating edge computing capabilities, likely utilizing frameworks such as KubeEdge. This involves extending the Kubernetes control plane to manage edge devices and workloads, ensuring that applications can be deployed and managed consistently from the cloud to the furthest reaches of the network.
- • This role demands a deep understanding of cloud-native networking principles and security best practices. You will be responsible for architecting solutions that are not reliant on traditional, appliance-based networking but instead embrace the flexibility and power of software-defined networking and cloud-native technologies.
- • Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining infrastructure as code (IaC) for the deployment and management of Kubernetes clusters, Cilium, and edge components. You will automate the provisioning, configuration, and scaling of the platform to ensure reliability, efficiency, and rapid deployment capabilities.
- • You will be tasked with designing and implementing robust security measures, including network segmentation, access control, and threat detection, leveraging eBPF for fine-grained security policy enforcement. Ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and workloads across the distributed environment will be a top priority.
- • Collaboration will be a significant aspect of this role. You will work closely with client teams, understanding their unique business requirements and translating them into effective technical solutions. You will also collaborate with internal Trility teams to share knowledge, best practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our platform engineering capabilities.
- • Continuous learning and staying abreast of the latest advancements in Kubernetes, cloud-native technologies, eBPF, service mesh, and edge computing are essential. You will be expected to research, evaluate, and recommend new tools and technologies that can enhance the platform's capabilities and performance.
- • This is a hands-on engineering role where you will be deeply involved in the technical implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization of the platform. You will be expected to provide expert-level guidance and support to clients and internal teams, ensuring the successful adoption and operation of the designed infrastructure.
- • The ideal candidate is self-motivated, proactive, and driven to continuously improve their skills and knowledge, aiming to be more effective today than they were yesterday. You will take pride in delivering exceptional value and contributing to the success of our clients' most critical initiatives.
- • This is a remote 1099 independent contractor position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and projects.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing complex Kubernetes environments.
- • Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Cilium for networking and security policy enforcement in Kubernetes, leveraging eBPF capabilities.
- • Experience with edge computing platforms and technologies (e.g., KubeEdge, IoT Edge) and extending Kubernetes to edge deployments.
- • Strong proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi, and CI/CD pipelines.
- • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills in distributed systems.
- • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and technical teams.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote 1099 independent contractor position offering significant flexibility.
- • Opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud-native technologies and contribute to innovative client projects.
- • Be part of a Great Place to Work® Certified company with a strong, supportive, and collaborative remote culture.
- • Continuous learning and professional development opportunities in a rapidly evolving field.
- • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience and expertise.
