- • Senior Platform Engineer role focused on building and maintaining the infrastructure for TigerData's managed TimescaleDB cloud services, ensuring stability and scalability of a distributed microservice architecture.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining control plane stability, debugging Kubernetes issues across regions, automating database lifecycle operations, developing backend features and Kubernetes controllers, enhancing observability, improving deployment reliability, writing idiomatic Go code with high test coverage, and collaborating with engineering teams on system architecture.
- • TigerData is a globally distributed, remote-first company formerly known as Timescale, providing the fastest PostgreSQL platform for transactional, analytical, and agentic workloads, trusted by thousands of organizations worldwide and backed by $180 million in funding.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in Kubernetes, Go, and distributed systems, contribute to critical infrastructure used by millions of databases, gain hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies, and grow as a platform engineer shaping the future of data infrastructure.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of software/platform engineering experience
- • 2+ years of Go in production environments
- • 2+ years of Kubernetes operations (building, debugging, scaling clusters)
- • Experience with distributed systems and microservice architectures
- • Advanced proficiency in Go (1.24+) and experience developing Kubernetes controllers, operators, and CRDs
- • Familiarity with PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB administration, backup/restore, WAL management, and query tuning
