Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Architect the beating heart of Gravity Sketch’s real-time collaboration engine. You will own the design and evolution of the networking layer that synchronizes thousands of concurrent users sculpting, sketching, and reviewing complex 3D models in shared virtual spaces. Every millisecond you shave off latency and every megabyte you save in bandwidth directly translates into a smoother, more joyful experience for designers at Nike, Ford, and other world-leading brands.
- • Scale horizontally and vertically. Our user base is doubling quarter-over-quarter, and 3D scenes are growing richer. You will re-architect message queues, implement delta compression, and leverage edge nodes so that a team in Tokyo, London, and São Paulo can co-create without noticing the distance. Expect to push AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform to their limits while keeping costs predictable.
- • Build cloud-native infrastructure that is self-healing, observable, and secure by default. You will codify every component in Terraform and Helm, introduce chaos testing, and design zero-downtime blue-green deployments. Your dashboards will surface p99 latency, packet-loss heatmaps, and user-journey traces so the entire company can see the impact of every release.
- • Unify the cross-platform experience. Whether a designer straps on a Quest 3, opens a MacBook, or clicks into a browser tab, the session must feel identical. You will abstract transport protocols, reconcile coordinate systems, and craft serialization formats that work equally well over UDP, WebRTC, and HTTP/3.
- • Create a world-class development environment. You will ship CLI tools that spin up a miniature version of our global stack on a laptop in under 60 seconds, write deterministic simulators that replay real user sessions, and build automated canaries that detect regressions before customers do. Your tooling will become the force multiplier that lets every engineer ship faster and safer.
- • Mentor and elevate the team. You will run weekly architecture clinics, pair-program with junior engineers, and introduce guilds for performance, security, and reliability. Your code reviews will be celebrated for both their kindness and their rigor, and your post-mortems will turn incidents into shared learning rituals.
- • Champion a user-centric mindset. You will join customer calls, watch VR usability sessions, and translate designer pain points into technical roadmaps. When a latency spike blocks a critical design review, you will drop everything to fix it—because you viscerally understand that our product is judged in milliseconds.
- • Drive product validation through rapid experimentation. You will instrument feature flags, run A/B tests on routing algorithms, and prototype speculative ideas in Rust or Go that might become the next competitive moat. Your curiosity will keep the entire company in learning mode.
- • Own the architectural evolution. You will maintain a living tech-debt ledger, propose quarterly OKRs that balance new features with foundational investment, and present board-ready narratives on how platform choices map to business outcomes. Your roadmap will be transparent, data-driven, and passionately debated.
