📋 Description

• Architect the future of online gaming: As Senior Principal Software Engineer you will own the end-to-end technical vision for ClubWPT Gold, the World Poker Tour’s next-generation platform. You will translate ambitious product goals into scalable, secure, and highly-available systems that delight millions of players worldwide.
• Own the CI/CD lifecycle: Design, implement, and continuously improve robust pipelines that span local development, staging, and production. Automate build, test, and deployment processes to cut release times from days to minutes while maintaining strict security and compliance standards for PII and banking data.
• Integrate world-class third-party services: Evaluate, onboard, and optimize payment gateways, KYC/AML providers, geolocation engines, and real-time data feeds. Your integrations will become the invisible backbone that powers seamless deposits, withdrawals, and tournament operations.
• Lead large-scale, cross-time-zone projects: Drive projects from whiteboard to production, coordinating with engineering squads in Redwood City and across Asia. You will set technical direction, break epics into executable stories, and ensure every commit meets Bellota Labs’ standards for performance, observability, and regulatory compliance.
• Write exemplary code and set engineering bar: Spend at least 50 % of your time hands-on—crafting GoLang microservices, TypeScript/React front-end components, and infrastructure-as-code. Your pull requests serve as living documentation and teaching tools for the broader team.
• Mentor and multiply talent: Onboard, coach, and level-up engineers through pair programming, architecture reviews, and brown-bag sessions. Build a culture where knowledge sharing is the default and every release is a team win.
• Influence product strategy: Partner with Product, UX, and Compliance to shape quarterly roadmaps. Translate regulatory requirements into technical tasks, size opportunities, and present trade-offs to executives in plain English.
• Champion security and game integrity: Embed security-by-design into every layer—encryption at rest/in transit, zero-trust networking, and real-time fraud detection. Your systems will protect both player trust and the World Poker Tour brand.
• Optimize for hypergrowth: Design for 10× traffic spikes during marquee tournaments. Employ horizontal scaling, caching layers, and data partitioning strategies that keep latency under 100 ms even when prize pools hit seven figures.
• Establish observability excellence: Implement distributed tracing, centralized logging, and real-time alerting that turn anomalies into actionable insights before players notice. Own SLIs/SLOs and post-incident reviews that continuously raise the reliability bar.
• Foster a remote-first culture: Create documentation, runbooks, and video demos that make asynchronous collaboration effortless. Your practices will set the standard for how Bellota Labs ships software across continents.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years delivering complex, high-quality software on aggressive schedules, ideally in gaming, fintech, or similarly regulated environments
• Deep mastery of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems design, and modern architectural patterns
• Proven track record securing PII and payment data—PCI-DSS, SOX, or equivalent compliance experience strongly preferred
• Expert-level proficiency in at least one of GoLang, TypeScript, React, or Vue, plus hands-on CI/CD pipeline ownership
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to distill technical trade-offs for both engineers and executives
