• • As the Founding Designer at Finch Legal, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience and visual identity of our platform. Design is not an afterthought here; it is fundamental to our success. The systems we create for our legal operations team, our injured clients, and our law firm partners must be characterized by clarity, empathy, and efficiency. You will be instrumental in bringing a refined aesthetic, a rapid pace of execution, and a structured approach to tackling complex operational challenges.
• • This is a unique opportunity to work at the vanguard of AI-enabled legal services, contributing directly to building a more equitable justice system for all Americans. As our first dedicated design hire, you will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and leadership to conceptualize and build intuitive, beautiful, and highly functional tools and experiences from the very beginning. This role offers significant ownership and autonomy, empowering you to be a key decision-maker in the formative stages of our company.
• • Your responsibilities will span across several critical areas, including leading the design of internal case management tools that empower our legal operations team to achieve superhuman levels of efficiency and accuracy. You will also design law firm portals that provide essential control and transparency to our legal partners and their teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and communication.
• • Furthermore, you will craft client-facing experiences that humanize the often-intimidating legal process, making it more accessible and understandable for individuals navigating difficult times. Your influence will extend to shaping our brand identity and marketing website, defining how Finch Legal presents itself to the public and establishing a compelling narrative. You will also be involved in designing our emerging AI interfaces, ensuring that the outputs are clear, actionable, and seamlessly integrated into user workflows.
• • A significant part of your role will involve defining the foundational elements of our design system at Finch Legal. This includes developing a shared vocabulary and set of principles for quality and craft that will be adopted across design, product, and engineering teams, fostering consistency and excellence throughout our product development lifecycle.
• • We are looking for a designer who thrives in ambiguous, '0 to 1' environments, demonstrating a passion for designing with both speed and deliberate intent. You should possess the ability to balance aesthetic refinement with practical iteration, understanding when to invest in polish and when to prioritize forward momentum. A systems-thinking mindset is crucial for untangling complex user flows and transforming them into intuitive, user-friendly experiences.
