Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Lead end-to-end design for complex, ambiguous audit workflows including planning, execution, review, and collaboration across engagements, translating customer needs, research insights, and business goals into clear user journeys and polished UI.
- • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to shape product strategy, influence roadmaps, and deliver high-quality, scalable implementations while balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
- • Drive design execution with minimal direction in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, operating at high velocity without sacrificing craft, usability, or long-term product quality.
- • Own a significant product area or customer journey, anticipating downstream impacts across workflows, personas, and adjacent product areas to ensure cohesive and scalable solutions.
- • Design AI-assisted workflows directly into the product—incorporating AI into daily design practice for research, synthesis, prototyping, and iteration, using it as a force multiplier while applying strong human judgment.
- • Advocate for users while accounting for regulatory, technical, and business constraints inherent in audit, compliance, and financial domains.
- • Set a high bar for usability, consistency, and polish in all shipped work, ensuring design systems are maintained and enhanced to support product scalability and team alignment.
- • Serve as a trusted design voice with strong conviction and low ego, contributing to design mentorship, peer feedback, and team-wide critique to elevate the overall quality of the design function.
- • Translate regulatory and workflow-heavy requirements into intuitive, accessible interfaces for auditors and assurance professionals who rely on the product daily.
- • Build and refine interaction models that support role-based permissions, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and document-centric workflows common in audit and compliance environments.
- • Actively contribute to a user-centered design culture by grounding decisions in research, data, and direct customer insight while remaining agile enough to ship frequently and iterate in tight loops.
- • Balance speed with depth: know when to move quickly to test hypotheses and when to go deep to ensure robust, scalable solutions that meet high-stakes professional standards.
- • Operate as a strong product partner within the Audit product group, helping define problems, prioritize solutions, and align cross-functional teams around shared goals.
- • Design for accessibility and inclusive practices, ensuring the product serves diverse users across global markets and varying levels of technical familiarity.
- • Contribute to the evolution of Fieldguide’s design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and adherence to high-fidelity standards across all product surfaces.
- • Proactively identify opportunities to modernize legacy audit workflows, reducing up to 50% of manual work through thoughtful UI/UX improvements and AI integration.
- • Work remotely or from the San Francisco office, collaborating with a distributed team that values inclusivity, humility, and mutual growth.
- • Maintain deep empathy for audit practitioners who depend on the product daily, ensuring every design decision improves their work-life balance and reduces cognitive load.
- • Participate in rapid experimentation and iteration cycles, shipping frequently while maintaining a focus on clarity, trust, and precision in every interaction.
- • Influence product direction by bringing user-centered perspectives to ambiguous problem spaces and turning uncertainty into momentum through structured design thinking.
🎯 Requirements
- • Experience designing AI-assisted workflows (e.g., review, summarization, guidance) and incorporating AI into daily design practice
- • Ability to own complex, ambiguous problem spaces end-to-end with minimal direction
- • Strong track record in B2B SaaS, workflow-heavy, or document-centric product design
- • Experience designing for regulated domains such as audit, accounting, or compliance
