📋 Description

• As a Senior Product Designer at Vanta, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Customer Trust Management (CTM) product area. This is a unique opportunity to drive design excellence within one of the most complex and strategically important segments of our platform, directly impacting how businesses manage third-party risk at scale and build foundational trust in the digital landscape.
• Vanta's CTM product is designed to empower organizations to proactively reduce risks associated with their third-party vendors. You will be instrumental in designing experiences that enable customers to effectively track their vendors, conduct comprehensive risk assessments, and benefit from continuous monitoring for breaches and vulnerabilities. This sophisticated system leverages AI to significantly save teams time, reduce manual overhead, and provide unparalleled clarity and oversight across their entire vendor ecosystem.
• In this role, you will collaborate intimately with Product Managers and Engineering teams, translating intricate requirements into clear, intuitive, and efficient user experiences. Your work will be crucial in bringing order and understanding to complex data and processes, making security management more accessible and effective for our users.
• Beyond the execution of individual design projects, you will be a key influencer of product strategy. This involves contributing to the long-term vision for CTM, aligning cross-functional teams around design initiatives, and actively elevating our overall design practices and standards as Vanta continues its rapid growth trajectory.
• You will be responsible for bringing a high standard of visual and interaction design to all your work, ensuring that Vanta's users consistently experience intuitive, delightful, and highly functional interfaces. This means not only creating aesthetically pleasing designs but also ensuring they are deeply user-centric and solve real-world problems effectively.
• A core aspect of your role will be developing and maintaining a profound understanding of our users – their workflows, pain points, and strategic objectives. This deep empathy will inform your design process, enabling you to craft thoughtful solutions that genuinely meet and exceed their needs.
• You will work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) within Vanta, partnering with them to develop and refine guidelines that enhance user content and improve the overall user guidance provided within the Vanta platform. This collaborative approach ensures accuracy and effectiveness in how users interact with critical information.
• A commitment to iterative design is essential. You will continuously refine design solutions based on a rich stream of user feedback, data-driven insights, and close collaboration with your product and engineering counterparts. This agile approach ensures our products evolve to meet user demands.
• You will apply system thinking to your design process, creating cohesive and consistent user experiences across the entire Vanta platform. This involves understanding how design patterns and components function within a larger ecosystem and ensuring their consistent application to maintain a unified user journey.
• You are encouraged to dive into Vanta's broader product ecosystem, learning from the expertise of other designers and actively contributing to the understanding of how different product areas connect and interact. This cross-pollination of ideas fosters innovation and ensures a holistic product vision.
• Effective collaboration with a diverse range of cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, researchers, and marketing, is paramount. You will work closely with these stakeholders to bring designs to life, ensuring seamless implementation and a shared understanding of design goals.
• You will be expected to communicate your design rationale clearly and persuasively to a wide array of stakeholders, building alignment, gaining buy-in, and generating enthusiasm for your design concepts and strategic recommendations.
• As a senior member of the team, you will lead by example, providing mentorship and guidance to junior designers. You will help them grow their skills, deepen their understanding of design best practices, and contribute to their professional development within Vanta.
• You will report directly to the Director of Design within the Trust Product Pillar, working within a supportive and growth-oriented environment.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience delivering high-quality B2B SaaS products on large-scale projects.
• Demonstrated track record of maintaining high executional quality and organizational impact.
• Independent in driving discovery processes and leveraging customer insights to inform product strategy and define design directions.
• Skilled in leading the design process from ambiguity to concept and execution for entire product areas.
• Strong ability to mentor and influence others, including senior and executive management teams.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and complex problem-solving.
• Proven success in driving design strategy, systemic thinking, and strong product sensibility.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of clearly articulating design concepts to diverse audiences.
• Proficient in managing complex projects, timelines, and proactive escalation handling.
• Portfolio required, showcasing consumer-grade craftsmanship and effective product solutions tailored to customer needs.
