  • • As a Senior Product Designer focused on Growth at MagicSchool Inc., you will be instrumental in shaping the future of AI in education. You will embed yourself within a dedicated product squad, acting as a key influencer on strategic decisions and the product roadmap, while also spearheading the end-to-end design execution for growth initiatives. Your primary focus will be on championing the needs of our users – educators worldwide – translating complex research and data into tangible, actionable design concepts, and identifying the most impactful opportunities for user engagement and platform expansion. This role demands a unique blend of strategic foresight, a deep commitment to user-centered problem-solving, and exceptional visual and UI design skills, all within an environment that encourages rapid iteration and data-driven decision-making.
  • • You will be at the forefront of driving growth for MagicSchool, a platform that has already empowered over 7 million teachers globally. This means embracing a fast-paced, experimental approach, where quick iteration and continuous learning are paramount. If the prospect of directly impacting how educators leverage AI to enhance learning experiences excites you, this is the perfect opportunity to make a significant contribution.
  • • Your responsibilities will encompass the entire design lifecycle within your squad. This includes proactively anticipating user and business needs, shaping the direction of new features, conceptualizing innovative solutions, actively gathering feedback through various channels, and rapidly iterating on designs to optimize performance and user satisfaction. You will be a key driver in ensuring our product not only meets but exceeds the expectations of our diverse user base.
  • • A significant part of your role will involve leading and actively participating in user research activities. This includes conducting in-depth user interviews, performing usability testing, designing and analyzing surveys, and delving into quantitative data. The insights gleaned from this research will be crucial in translating findings into clear, actionable insights and robust design principles that guide our product development.
  • • You will be responsible for crafting user experiences that are not only impactful and grounded in research but also skillfully balance the often-competing demands of user goals, critical business objectives, and technical feasibility. This requires a nuanced understanding of product development and a creative approach to finding elegant solutions.
  • • Ensuring that all designs are accessible, inclusive, and adhere to the highest usability standards is a core tenet of this role. You will champion best practices in accessibility and inclusivity, ensuring that MagicSchool is a welcoming and effective tool for all educators, regardless of their background or abilities.
  • • You will serve as the primary advocate for the customer voice within your squad and across the organization. By leveraging both qualitative and quantitative insights, you will powerfully articulate user needs and design rationale, ensuring that user-centricity remains at the heart of every decision.
  • • Applying best practices in UI design and interaction design will be essential. You will create intuitive, scalable interfaces that align with our existing design system, while also actively contributing to its growth and evolution. This involves maintaining consistency and contributing to the development of new components and guidelines.
  • • Collaboration is key. You will partner closely with engineers, Product Managers, and fellow designers to foster alignment, proactively solve complex challenges, and ensure the successful delivery of high-impact features that drive user acquisition, retention, and overall platform growth.
  • • Beyond your immediate squad, you will contribute to the broader growth of the design culture within MagicSchool. This includes sharing knowledge, mentoring junior designers, and participating in design critiques and initiatives that elevate the practice of design across the company.
  • • You will be expected to bring a proactive, resourceful, and ownership-driven mindset to your work. Getting things done, anticipating challenges, and taking initiative are hallmarks of success in this role. Your ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting and pivoting as needed, will be critical.
  • • Strong communication skills are a must. You will need to clearly articulate your design rationale, present your work effectively to diverse stakeholders, and advocate passionately for the user throughout the product development process.
  • • Experience with SaaS products serving both B2B and B2C audiences will be highly valuable, as will familiarity with A/B testing methodologies to validate design decisions and optimize growth strategies.
  • • Ultimately, you will be a key player in making AI accessible and beneficial for educators worldwide, contributing to MagicSchool's mission of transforming education.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5+ years of experience in product design roles, with a strong emphasis on growth-focused initiatives and user engagement.
  • • A comprehensive portfolio showcasing case studies that demonstrate elegant, results-driven solutions to complex, multi-step workflows, particularly those related to user acquisition, onboarding, and retention.
  • • Proven experience leading design on large, cross-functional projects, including successful collaboration with remote teams, and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • • Proficiency in Figma for design, prototyping, and collaboration, along with experience using prototyping tools such as Lovable or Google Stitch.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO) to support work-life balance and encourage rest.
  • • Employer-paid health insurance plans, with low-premium dental and vision coverage options.
  • • Generous stock options granted to all employees, vesting over a 4-year period.
  • • Monthly wellness stipend and 401k match to support employee well-being and financial planning.
