Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end design strategy for Splice’s growth initiatives, from first-touch landing pages to in-product onboarding flows that convert curious visitors into lifelong creators.
- • Partner daily with Product Managers, Engineers, Data Scientists, and Marketers to identify high-impact growth levers—then translate those insights into pixel-perfect, experiment-ready designs that move core metrics such as trial starts, activation rate, and paid conversion.
- • Rapidly prototype and A/B test every assumption: landing page headlines, paywall layouts, checkout flows, email sequences, and in-app upsell modals. You’ll ship weekly, measure relentlessly, and iterate until the numbers (and our users) sing.
- • Champion a culture of evidence-based design across the company. Run user interviews, usability tests, and surveys with producers ranging from bedroom beat-makers to Grammy winners, then socialize findings so every team levels up.
- • Build and maintain a scalable, accessible design system that keeps the Splice brand cohesive from marketing site to DAW plugin. Your Figma libraries and code-friendly specs will empower engineers to ship faster without sacrificing quality.
- • Deeply understand the music-creation workflow—how producers discover sounds, preview them in context, and drop them into Ableton, FL Studio, or Logic—so every growth touchpoint feels native to their creative process.
- • Craft emotionally resonant storytelling that speaks the language of musicians: waveforms, BPM, key signatures, and sonic texture. You’ll translate complex AI features (like “Similar Sounds” or “Create Stack”) into intuitive UI that feels like magic, not math.
- • Collaborate with Brand and Content teams to launch seasonal campaigns, artist spotlights, and sample pack drops that drive spikes in acquisition while reinforcing Splice’s authority in music culture.
- • Instrument your designs with clean analytics hooks (Segment, Amplitude, GA4) so every experiment yields actionable data. You’ll define success metrics up front and present results in concise, compelling read-outs to stakeholders at all levels.
- • Mentor mid-level and junior designers, running weekly design critiques and pairing sessions that sharpen visual craft, UX thinking, and growth mindset across the entire Product Design org.
- • Stay ahead of industry trends—from TikTok sound-discovery behaviors to emerging DAWs—then translate those insights into forward-looking roadmap proposals that keep Splice two steps ahead of competitors.
- • Balance speed and craft: know when a scrappy test is enough to validate direction and when to push for signature-level polish that elevates the brand and delights our community.
- • Report directly to the VP of Design while enjoying the autonomy of a senior IC. Your roadmap will be yours to shape, backed by the resources and executive air cover needed to execute ambitiously.
- • Contribute to Splice’s remote-first culture: host virtual jam sessions, share playlists, and bring your authentic musical self to work—whether you’re a classically trained pianist or a lo-fi beat hobbyist.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of product design experience with at least 2 years focused on growth, acquisition, or lifecycle design in a consumer SaaS or marketplace environment.
- • Proven track record of running high-velocity A/B and multivariate experiments that drove measurable lifts in conversion, activation, or revenue.
- • Expert-level fluency in Figma, modern design systems, and responsive web design; comfort writing HTML/CSS/React enough to prototype in code when needed.
- • Strong quantitative skills: ability to define experiment hypotheses, design statistically sound tests, and interpret results via Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar.
- • Portfolio showcasing end-to-end growth projects—landing pages, onboarding flows, paywalls, referral loops—with clear before/after metrics.
- • Nice-to-have: passion for music production (you’ve opened a DAW, downloaded samples, or released a track); familiarity with music metadata (BPM, key, genre) and creator culture.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote-first culture with quarterly off-sites in music-centric cities (past trips: LA, Berlin, Tokyo) and a generous home-office stipend.
- • Competitive salary + equity in a fast-growing, profitable company backed by Goldman Sachs and Union Square Ventures.
- • Annual $2,000 learning budget for courses, conferences, or gear—plus free access to all Splice Sounds, plugins, and AI tools.
- • Flexible PTO policy with a mandatory two-week minimum; we actually shut the company down between Christmas and New Year’s.
- • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision for you and 75% for dependents, plus mental-health and music-therapy benefits.
