Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a Senior Product Designer focused on Recording at Scribe, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how 4 million users capture workflows and surface knowledge through AI-powered experiences, directly influencing product outcomes that drive business impact and user success.
- • You will own the end-to-end design of core features centered on Scribe’s AI recording capabilities, from initial exploration and user research to prototyping, shipping, and iteration, while maintaining flexibility to contribute across the broader product ecosystem as priorities evolve.
- • Your day-to-day will involve collaborating with product managers and engineers to challenge assumptions, define meaningful problems, explore multiple solutions through sketching and AI-assisted prototyping (using tools like Magic Patterns and Claude), validate concepts with users, and ship high-impact experiences that change customer behavior.
- • You will act as the voice of the customer by conducting user interviews, synthesizing insights, and translating deep user needs into intuitive, polished designs that balance creativity with usability and business goals.
- • Working closely with your product manager, you’ll align design efforts with company strategy and OKRs, using data and user feedback to influence the roadmap and prioritize work that maximizes impact and outcomes over mere output.
- • You’ll leverage AI thoughtfully in your workflow — using LLMs to surface edge cases, generate copy, or explore risk factors — and partner with engineers using Cursor to ship visual and interaction changes directly, blurring the line between design and implementation for faster iteration.
- • Collaboration is central: you’ll regularly engage with design peers to give and receive feedback, participate in critiques, and collectively raise the quality bar across all product experiences.
- • You’ll think big but ship incrementally, balancing visionary thinking with rapid execution to deliver tangible user value at high velocity, knowing when to invest in detailed systems and when to use lightweight sketches to unblock teams.
- • Your strong point of view and taste will make you a trusted advisor — stakeholders will rely on you to distinguish good from great design and champion experiences that feel intuitive, delightful, and truly valuable.
- • You’ll thrive in an autonomous, bias-for-action environment where curiosity drives exploration, and you’re empowered to learn new tools, run experiments, and iterate fearlessly until the right solution emerges.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of experience designing multi-platform products (web, mobile, and/or desktop), preferably with complex or enterprise-grade use cases in a startup or fast-paced environment.
- • Proficiency in modern design tools and a strong bias for using AI in your workflow — including experience with LLMs like Claude or ChatGPT and tools such as Cursor or Claude Code to accelerate ideation and prototyping.
- • Proven ability to partner with product and engineering teams to define problems, validate solutions, and ship features that drive measurable user and business outcomes.
- • Strong user-centered mindset: demonstrated skill in conducting user research, synthesizing insights, and translating them into compelling, detail-oriented designs.
- • Portfolio showcasing exceptional product thinking, interaction design, visual craft, and the ability to solve complex problems through thoughtful, iterative design processes.
- • Self-directed and autonomous work style: comfort operating without strict PRDs, taking initiative to explore unknowns, and learning new approaches or tools as needed.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive base salary range of $150,000 - $175,000 annually, plus meaningful equity participation in a fast-growing, venture-backed startup.
- • Comprehensive healthcare benefits covering medical, dental, and vision for you and your dependents.
- • Unlimited paid time off (PTO) to support work-life balance and mental well-being.
- • 401(k) retirement plan with company contribution to help you plan for the future.
- • Generous parental leave policy to support growing families.
- • Commuter and work-from-home (WFH) stipends to offset transportation and home office expenses.
- • Regular office lunches and opportunities to connect with teammates in person at Scribe’s San Francisco headquarters.
