Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the product roadmap for the next-generation operating system that is re-wiring how the $1.6 trillion beverage-alcohol industry runs. You will translate the complexity of legacy POS, payments, back-office, and e-commerce into a single, elegant platform that independent retailers rely on every day.
- • Lead cross-functional squads of engineers, designers, and go-to-market teammates to ship high-impact features every two weeks. You will run discovery sprints, write crisp PRDs, and make ruthless prioritization calls that balance retailer delight with long-term platform health.
- • Become the voice of the BevAlc retailer. Spend at least 20 % of your time on Zoom and in stores—from corner bottle shops to multi-location chains—observing pain points, running usability tests, and turning anecdotes into quantified opportunities that move core KPIs.
- • Define and instrument success metrics across activation, retention, and revenue. You will own dashboards in Amplitude and Metabase, run weekly growth reviews, and surface insights that inform both product and company strategy.
- • Champion a “Rails-first” mindset. Work hand-in-hand with senior engineers to scope epics that leverage Ruby on Rails conventions, reduce technical debt, and keep the codebase more talent-dense than osmium.
- • Drive pricing and packaging experiments that unlock new revenue streams. You will model unit economics, A/B test tiered plans, and partner with Finance to ensure every new feature contributes to healthy SaaS margins.
- • Evangelize the product internally and externally. Host monthly “What’s New” webinars for retailers, craft release notes that customers actually read, and represent Scotch at industry conferences and on social media.
- • Mentor junior PMs and aspiring product thinkers. Run internal workshops on story mapping, JTBD interviews, and outcome-based roadmaps so the entire company levels up its product craft.
- • Collaborate with Compliance and Legal to navigate the labyrinth of state-by-state alcohol regulations. Translate statutory requirements into user stories that feel invisible to retailers yet bulletproof to auditors.
- • Shape the long-term vision for ScotchOS 2.0—an AI-powered assistant that recommends inventory orders, predicts shrinkage, and surfaces upsell opportunities. You will write vision docs, secure executive buy-in, and sequence the multi-year journey from MVP to category-defining platform.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of product management experience, including at least 2 years on B2B SaaS platforms with complex, multi-module architectures
- • Demonstrated ability to ship zero-to-one features in Ruby on Rails environments and to collaborate deeply with senior Rails engineers
- • Proven track record of owning end-to-end KPIs—activation, retention, revenue—and using data to drive prioritization decisions
- • Excellent discovery and customer-interview skills; comfortable spending significant time with SMB owners and translating qualitative insights into quantitative impact
- • Nice-to-have: Prior experience in regulated industries (alcohol, cannabis, fintech, healthcare) and familiarity with state-by-state compliance workflows
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote culture with quarterly off-sites in top-tier wine and spirits destinations (think Sonoma, Portland, or Jalisco)
- • Competitive salary plus meaningful equity in a high-growth Series A company modernizing a $1.6 T market
- • Annual $3,000 professional-development stipend for courses, conferences, or coaching of your choice
- • Home-office setup budget, top-tier health/dental/vision coverage, and a monthly “beverage stipend” to sample the very products our retailers sell
