- • Design and evolve product security architecture for Valon’s multi-tenant SaaS platform, ensuring secure design patterns are embedded in customer-facing features and foundational infrastructure.
- • Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to implement secure authentication/authorization models, including RBAC, SSO/SAML/OIDC, SCIM, MFA, and audit logging for ValonOS.
- • Build and maintain security reference architectures and standardized secure design patterns used across product teams to ensure consistent, scalable security controls.
- • Lead threat modeling exercises and conduct security-focused code reviews for new features, services, and major architectural changes to identify and mitigate risks prior to deployment.
- • Design and automate AI-assisted workflows to accelerate product security tasks, including vulnerability detection, policy enforcement, and compliance monitoring.
- • Evaluate AI-specific risks across internal and external applications, ensuring secure deployment and operation of AI-powered systems within the customer platform.
- • Partner with Compliance, Legal, and Data teams to address regulatory requirements including SOC 2, CCPA, NYDFS, and FTC, supporting customer due diligence and security audits.
- • Triage and drive remediation of product security vulnerabilities, conducting root cause analysis and implementing long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.
- • Develop, enforce, and update security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with industry frameworks such as OWASP, NIST, CIS, SOC 2, and ISO 27001.
- • Support operational security activities including incident response, security advisory reviews, and consultative engagements with cross-functional teams.
- • Engage with external security auditors, penetration testing firms, and third-party partners to assess and improve Valon’s overall security posture.
- • Implement and manage platform security controls including API security, encryption, key management (CMEK/KMS), logging, and monitoring solutions across cloud environments (GCP preferred).
- • Serve as a security advisor to non-technical stakeholders, translating complex security concepts into actionable insights for Product, Legal, and Customer-facing teams.
- • Apply hands-on software engineering skills (preferably Python) to prototype security tools, automate controls, and integrate security into CI/CD pipelines.
- • Maintain deep ownership of customer platform security, ensuring that multi-tenancy, data isolation, and tenant-specific access controls are robustly designed and enforced.
- • Contribute to security culture across Valon by mentoring engineers, participating in security training, and promoting security-by-design principles throughout the product lifecycle.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years in security engineering roles focused on product, application, and/or cloud security
- • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Technology or related field
- • Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSK, CCSP or similar)
- • Hands-on experience securing cloud environments (GCP preferred) and implementing SaaS IAM controls (SSO/SAML/OIDC, SCIM, RBAC, MFA)
- • Proven ability to design security reference architectures and implement customer platform security controls (API security, encryption/KMS, logging/monitoring)
- • Strong experience leading threat modeling and security design reviews for SaaS platforms with multi-tenancy
