  • • Lead end-to-end UI design for mobile-first products, owning the full design process from discovery to implementation with a focus on visual appeal, intuitiveness, and alignment with user needs.
  • • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to ensure design decisions are aligned with business goals, technical feasibility, and data-driven insights.
  • • Conduct user research, usability testing, and analyze quantitative data to inform, validate, and refine design solutions.
  • • Drive design critiques, stakeholder alignment sessions, and cross-functional communication to clearly articulate design rationale and secure buy-in across teams.
  • • Build and maintain high-fidelity prototypes and design systems that ensure consistency, scalability, and adherence to accessibility standards.
  • • Balance speed and quality in a fast-moving, iterative environment, delivering impactful design outcomes under tight deadlines without compromising user experience.
  • • Own the visual language of key product features, applying strong principles of hierarchy, typography, color, and spacing to create cohesive, polished interfaces.
  • • Translate product strategy and user insights into intuitive, engaging interfaces that drive user engagement and retention across a platform with over 70 million users.
  • • Actively contribute to shaping product direction by connecting design decisions to business outcomes and long-term growth objectives.
  • • Maintain technical awareness of front-end development constraints and capabilities (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to ensure feasible, high-quality design handoffs.
  • • Proactively identify opportunities for design improvement across the product, set high standards for team output, and mentor junior designers through feedback and collaboration.
  • • Implement motion design and gamified elements where appropriate to enhance user engagement and delight.
  • • Fully engage in an in-office culture, working five days a week in Berlin to foster collaboration, momentum, and team energy.
  • • Present design work with clarity and confidence to leadership and non-design stakeholders, translating user insights into strategic business value.
  • • Continuously iterate on designs based on real-time user feedback, A/B test results, and behavioral data to optimize performance and user satisfaction.
  • • Advocate for user-centric design principles while balancing the demands of a high-growth, profitable startup with ambitious scaling targets.
  • • Represent the design team in cross-departmental initiatives, ensuring design is integrated early and meaningfully into product roadmaps and engineering sprints.
  • • Maintain a portfolio that demonstrates measurable impact of design decisions on user behavior and business metrics.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5+ years of experience designing mobile-first products with a strong portfolio showcasing impactful UI and UX work
  • • Outstanding visual design skills with a keen eye for detail, hierarchy, and accessibility
  • • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively across Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams
  • • Data-driven mindset with experience using research and analytics to guide design decisions
  • • Technical awareness of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and its impact on design implementation
  • • Bonus: Experience with motion design and/or gamified elements
